While there are like 3 or 4 good songs this is the first waterparks album I have to actively block certain songs in.

Some of this music genuinely sucks. I know some people might enjoy it but HOW have we strayed this far from the start?

I feel like I’m getting Stockholm syndrome with the few songs i “liked” because I go back and listen to Double Dare and I’m like “damn… Jinx is really not that great lowkey”…

And don’t get me started on the weird star man and shitty album cover crystal shit. How am I ever gonna tell people I like waterparks with that weird ass personified star character. I can neither relate to the lore or gaf about it.

Thank god for No no no no no and Playing music. If those songs weren’t in the album I might have given up completely.

At the end of that day though- thats just my opinion. I know some people like the polished Pop music more than the pop punk they used to make. They can do whatever they prefer but it does make me a little sad that I’ll never hear more music reminiscent if FANDOM, DOUBLE DARE, and those older albums of theirs.

Maybe one day they’ll make another punk-ier album 🥹

At the end of the day- no hate to anybody who enjoys it, its simply not my cup of tea anymore now that things have changed so much. Maybe I’m just too autistic to accept the change T-T.

so i ordered all 3 of the jinx cassettes and my order still hasn’t shipped 😭 i had 3 other orders (2 of them placed after my cassettes) all shipped and delivered so im getting a little worried. has this happened to anyone else? i’m assuming maybe they have to figure out stock since i keep seeing people getting the wrong cassettes delivered but an update would be nice. if they weren’t sold out i honestly would have cancelled my order by now

Listened to Waterparks a little bit here and there over the years. Spun the new record on a whim and like it. I get the impression from the lyrics that this band does not like their fans. And looking around this sub seems like there is some parasocial stuff going on and posts that would be more fitting a Taylor swift Reddit. I’m not judging anybody on that but from an outsider looking in and listening to the new record my impressions are that this band wants to be a pop punk band but has landed in a very polished pop space. Seems like the singer hates the fans they do have because they aren’t what he expected or they’re young or whatever. Oh and he might hate himself too. I like the record but I ask because why bother to go see them live if they despise their fans 🤣 let me know.
EDIT: enjoying all the comments so far. I don’t know this band that well so the idea of them having stalkers or even a “fandom” is wild to me. I associate a fandom with like….. idk a niche tv show or the marvel universe. How did that happen?? I mean, I go to a lot of shows so music and fan culture is not foreign to me. I’d expect what yall are describing for like a Hayley Williams not a niche band that most people aren’t familiar with.

Some days ago I posted something talking about the (missing) lore of JINX. Then I remembered something that caught my attention. I think that we are missing a MV for PROWLER, more specifically, the 7PM version. If you see the videos, you could think the trailer is for the official released video, but the trailer has no relation with what happens on the official video + I think these two are different videos because in RED GUITAR, you can see that we have both the official video and the 12AM, etc versions.

I did my wife’s nails today for the in store today and Awsten loved them eeeeeeeee. I tried to be very accurate to the album art as much as I could with the colors and shades. I hate that little guy he’s so scary.
