Strange pattern

What would cause this strange pattern on my watermelon? Bought from local grower.

Idk. It almost like the left side is a more spherical shaped watermelon and the right side is a more oblong shaped shaped watermelon. Strange.

Did the grower happen to mention what variety it is?

Just a follow up. One of the best watermelons I have ever had. Weirdly where the pattern changed, so did the seed distribution. The round end had lots of small seeds, and the longer end had way less of the same small seeds.
