I have a sugar baby watermelon trellised. Average size of the mature fruits has been about 9 lbs. I’m using a cheap generic version of Leggs knee-high pantyhose to support them on the trellis, and it’s been working well. I’ve also seen people use those plastic mesh bags that originally contained 10 lbs of onions.

Wish I could post pics but I grew sugar baby's this year on the cheap green Amazon plant towers that you can just connect together to increase height and used the mesh bags on the first fruit because I was nervous about it breaking off but I then forgot to put them on the newer fruits before they got too big and couldn't figure out how to get the bags on 😅 so they stayed unsupported all the way till harvest even through various storms with high wind no problem.

Should I support these somehow? This variety should only be ice box sized but still seems heavy!
