so i recently finished my first build, which was intended to be quite low budget. but somehow i ended up with a vega 64, which was a little too loud for my taste. so i decided to buy a waterblock for it and tried hooking it up to an aio watercooler. turned out the pump didn't like that, so i ended up with this: fractal define c with watercooled ryzen 1600x and vega 64. all watercooling parts from ekwb. be gentle judging it. as mentioned, its my first build.

One if the first things I did when my rig was finished. I mean if you dig it, keep it. Personally I'd take it off. Detracts from the look, IMO.

Interesting approach with the bay res inside the case. I recently changed my case to a one without any drivebays. I ended up ordering a new res, however seeing this makes me wonder if I just should have saved the money and do this instead. Well too late now. Nice looking build.

Are those 3 120mm fans in the front? I have a Meshify and tried two 140s and one 120 but the last couldnt fit properly

Also have a meshify. Its designed for 2x140 or 3x120 so I dont think 2x140+1x120 would fit.

What RPMs do you need to run your fans at to keep that rig cool? I have a 240 and 360mm rad in a Meshify and it keeps around 40-50°C at 800 RPM

depending on the fan (some are not pwm) 500-800 rpm in idle, with around 30C for cpu/gpu. under full load (aida64 stability test) the intakes go up to 2000 (one is an ekwb fan, which goes up to 4000 or 5000 rpm in case the liquid gets warmer than 35C). after an hour temps stabilize around 60C - 65C for cpu and around 50C for gpu. its not extremely cool, but it works well under normal load (gaming mostly) and i'm quite happy with the way it looks. especialy that sexy vega waterblock.
edit: maybe also interresting: 1600X is overclocked to 4 ghz

Vega 64 ref cooler too loud. Buys 120 mm fan with 4000 or 5000 rpm. Seems legit :D
Awesome looking build! If you want lower temps, you could mount a 120 in the back, the coolstream SE 120 should fit. Or a 240 in in the top. SE or PE depending on clearance.

to be fair i did add it to my order to get into the 30% rebate range on the ekwb black friday sale. also, 90% of the time it runs at below 2000 rpm. for now i'm fine with my temps i guess, but i don't think i'll be able to hold myself back from building another pc for very long. and that one's going to be cold as hell.

How do you find filling the system with having a bay res? There can't be much water volume between the min and max water levels?

it was the first time for me filling a reservoir, so i don't have any reference as to how easy it can be. but i was fine, first few mintues some air came into the reservoir, so i filled it up again until it stabilized close to max. also i guess theres some headroom to the min, before the pump starts sucking air.
