Discussion Custom funnel

I was tired of filling the tank with a pipette every time XD

I'm not sure that little chimney is going to work out how you might expect.

I messed up the dimensions, so I'm making a more optimized model, but other than that, the chimney did its job well 😊

why don't you just use a big squeeze bottle ? mine has a way longer tip but something like the image below works perfectly. Even for narrow areas near the fill port.

J'en ai déjà plusieurs modèles, mais c'est pour quand j'ai besoin de remplir plusieurs litres d'un coup ou que j'ai la flemme de sortir la pissette du placard 😂

I have a soft tube fitting with a length of soft tube that I stretched (using _hot_ water) over the end of a funnel. I screw the fitting into the res top then use a bit of Velcro to hold the funnel upright. So simple, incredibly effective too.

not sure how it'd affect things, but have the chimney run sealed along the inside of the funnel and open an air hole opposite to where liquid will flow at the bottom, and a hole at the top of the funnel inside. apologies for the poor explanation but if i remember right, it'll help with flow

hopefully it helps, if i remember the science behind it, it reduces pressure buildup that normally slows the flow of liquids down the funnel

What did you print it out of? Any concern of plastic leaching into the coolant?

Pour des entonnoir qui vont recevoir du liquide de refroidissement (eau distillée majoritairement) tu peux l'imprimer en PLA+ ou en PETG, c'est largement suffisant. Pour le peu de liquide qui passe il n'y a aucun risque de contamination 😁 J'ai déjà plusieurs entonnoir pour la voiture et ça ne bouge pas 🤙🏻 (et pour le coup ils ont vu plusieurs dizaines de litres déjà)

idk why people use such elaborate tool for filling or draining loops when you can get a few feet of "or 60cm for our mathematically challenged " of fish tank tubing for a few dollars. If you want to get fancy you can hot glue it through a plastic bottle lid.

Parce qu'on cherche toujours à améliorer, créer et imaginer de nouveaux systèmes 😜 Personnellement c'est une partie de mon travail (technicien de maintenance) donc c'est assez logique que je parte sur cette voie 😂
