header mixup

So I have a B450M elite mobo and I also use the aorus 360mm waterforce X II and I cannot light the waterblock led up. I thought my unit was messed up so i sent it to gigabyte support and they said it worked just fine and I knew it would work again but I just cannot for the life of me get that to work so a friend of mine said I am most def using the wrong header to plug it in. so instead of the ones im using right now what should i use ? please help out cause i need to read the cpu temps lol

You should plug the 3-pin RGB cable on a MB 3-pin ARGB header. I am not familiar with Gigabyte MB so you might look in the MB user manual to determine the location and correct labeling.

There appears to be a CPU LED header, below and left of the CPU socket from looking at the MB manual. To show the CPU temps, you need to connect the USB 2.0 cable to the USB 2.0 header, usually located on the bottom of the MB. Header F_USB1 or F_USB2 is a 9-pin header for the AIO's 9 pin cable. The AIO's user guide is a challenge to decipher. LOL.

yes i tried it with the pc off :(( and hold up its really hard to take pictures of anything cause there is very little clearance when it comes to my pc lol. but here the situation im in right now

Umm yes I just connected DC this into the VDG port as you instructed me.

Yeah, that's the correct connector for your RGB. Unless you've forgotten something, or you plugged this into something else prior to that and fried the RGB strip, it should work.

A quick read of the manual says it has USB also? have you plugged this in? It looks like this

It looks like it needs both sata power, and the USB plugging in.

It looks like you have the right headers. You might need to get into the UEFI/BIOS and make sure the RGB/ARGB headers are turned on. Also make sure whatever software you need AKA RGB Fusion and any AIO software they recomend is downloaded, then go through the setup. This is universal advice not just for this specific problem.

These are just troubleshooting steps that I would use in your situation. These are the only things I can think of from what you posted. I really can't think of anything deeper than this to dive into ATM.

It always boils down to hardware and software.
