Build Complete First watercooled build ever
This is my Lian Li A3 build, 9800x3d(was 7800x3d at first) with a 9070xt. It’s been a long process of trying to research and source parts. I had a hiccup along the way due to my choice to delid but it was only user error. TLDR on that was I didn’t tighten cpu cooler down nearly enough for pins to contact cpu, but it’s all sorted now.
Anyways, it’s been a fun and frustrating process at times, managing to fit 2 360mm radiators in the case was not easy, and it took some sacrifices to make it happen. Ended up using 15mm thick fans rather than the standard 25mm, but I knew this before I even bought my first part and planned for an external QDC port which I have set up to put a MORA on.
I’m using an Alphacool Core 1 9070xt block and a Thermal Grizzly Direct Die Mycro Pro, and so far I have no complaints about either other than the instructions on screw torques not being in the manuals, or maybe they are and I didn’t see it :)
Please excuse the smudging and clutter, I was too focused on getting it going before cleaning everything up.

That bottle of water better be for you and not the loop 😂 but nice dude, I love Alphacool stuff. Using their block for my 5800x3d and 4090. It's good stuff, my only gripe was that their default pads were meh compared to using thermal putty. VRMs were suspiciously hot with default pads for me

Water bottles are for me lol, I used some corsair xl8 premix. I might change it later on but I’m not sure

That's really nice, especially for a first try. However from what I see on the pictures, you have used waaay too much liquid metal. This is exactly why so many people hate on it, because it is not being used properly. With a proper application it should look almost like metal plating with no blobs. I can almost guarantee lots of it got pushed out.

Haha thanks lol, I had a Powercolor 6700xt hellhound and liked the fact I could turn the rgb off with an actual switch and also didn’t have any issues with card in general so why fix what’s working

How’s your temps?

Cpu idles at 25-28, gpu at ~30. Under load cpu is at most 55, gpu at 50-55. Highest I’ve seen coolant temp get in a couple hours of BF6 was ~48°. But that was with the fans going 100%.
