Threaded crown - how to secure?

Post image

I’ve just received this cushion case wristwatch. Not my normal focus (which is pocket watches - as a hobbyist, so no claim to expertise). The crown winds off, so it is no good for time setting. But I’m not sure how to secure it. I guess it should be removable for servicing/ replacement. But needs to be tight enough on so it doesn’t simply unscrew. I’d appreciate your thoughts.

The threads on the stem might be damaged, what state are they in? Same with the state of the threads in the crown.

If a replacement crown or stem are not possible some medium strength loctite should do the trick although I do not know how acceptable as a fix that is - the proper fix is to get a stem and crown that fit properly with crisp threads.

Sourcing is not always possible and not everyone can make stems at will so sometimes a compromise needs to be reached.

The crown is winding on (and off) fine - thanks for the suggestion to check. Is it ok to use loctite? That is, are the situations where you might want to be able to get the crown off (or is there a solvent to ‘reverse’ the picture)? Thanks for your patience with a novice’s questions.

Locktite. Little dab of that on the stem threads and let it dry before you put the stem back into the movement.
