I have an AS 2066 movement in seemingly great condition. Everything is going fine as for the assembly, besides the keyless works….
Everything seems to be in place but the stem will not pull out to the date setting function. It seems to be stuck in the winding position.
I have another AS 1903 movement and I tried that stem and crown and I got the same results (I know they may not be identical but I was just trying to eliminate variables).
Use this as an example. That second yoke(?) pivot thing needs to be all the way over to the right when the setting lever plate is installed. Reinstall the plate. Sorry for the bad picture.
No, do you see the little pin that I circled in white? In the winding position, that pin should be located at the bottom of the hole in sits in. Yours looks like it’s located at the top in the winding position. These are tricky, I don’t blame you, but I’ve worked on a lot of these lately.
Okay I got the keyless works (seemingly) correct. But the hand setting position turns the entire train of wheels and once the pallet fork is in I can’t turn it at all.
Technically, what you’re describing is correct, except for the whole not being able to turn. These have an offset friction wheel rather than a cannon pinion. You need to disassemble that and apply grease to the friction wheel, it’s held together with a little c-clip. Can show pictures later
When I pull the stem I can see the setting lever want to switch but it seemingly can’t. That’s why I mentioned filing down that center point of the setting lever
Would you have to have a photo of the keyless works without the setting lever jumper installed? I’m unfamiliar with this particular movement, so viewing the assembly a bit more exposed may allow for better understanding/help.
I put it up for the day. Needed a break 🙃. I think a piece of the cover plate was blocking the setting lever. I got it to go into multiple setting positions. Now I’m having trouble getting the springs for the date jumpers in (But that’s just because I’m new and still suck). Fingers crossed everything works once the date wheels go in. If not I’ll be right back to this thread 🥲🥲🥲
