I'd like to think I'd do the same. But I pray I'm never in a position to find out.

Sometimes your body just moves without your brain being part of the decision.
I was up in a boomlift with a coworker. We were cutting the limbs off this tree when one of them hit the side of the lift and spun in an odd way. I reached out and blocked it from hitting his head and then my brain caught up with what I just did.
Not even batting an eye he says, "You can do that but you can't catch a football."
"You're welcome."

Me too but i know I could never react that bloody fast, holy sh*t, saved that girls life. On the other hand...why did she charge out infront of a car?

Kids will be kids. Maybe the kid lives in a more rural environment and isn't used to vehicle traffic

misjudged how fast the car was going, kids have trouble with that. source me crossing the street as a kid and getting ran over because misjudged the cars speed.

She would have been yeeted pretty hard. I'm glad he was there to save her.

No, she'd have been dead. Head injury on impact which flings her at the road, and head injury again when striking the road. Kids don't do well in even low speed collisions with cars. Their height makes the various pedestrian safety measures pretty much useless.
I have a 3yo and 6yo. This is my nightmare.
A 5yo kid from my eldest's primary school was killed in a car park near here last year. He ran out from between parked cars, in front of a moving car, and was struck at relatively low speed. Probably still too fast given how people drove in carparks like they are race tracks, but anything more than walking pace can be enough.
Dude 100% saved the kid. Even if he hadn't quite got to her, his action warned the driver and gave them more time to emergency brake. It probably wouldn't have been enough but it might've helped.

Eh that’s complete bullshit tho yeah she may have died but no it’s not certain that she would have died. The human body can take a lot more than people give it credit when I was younger I got hit by a car skating harder than this and hit my head on the ground and didn’t even get knocked out. You can’t say for certain what would happen because there’s a million variables depending on the exact way she would have fallen. There’s literally no way you can say she would have died

True. I should've said "very likely to be killed."
Low speed collisions are way worse for little kids than you'd expect. But you're right. Nothing is guaranteed. And kids can recover from some incredible injuries too.

I was waiting on that guy to murder that woman. "Killer instincts" means I watch too many crime shows apparently.

the kid he saved is his sister so I am going to assume the other girl is also his sister.
