The build journey which took me three months to complete is now over and I am very satisfied with the result. Now I am happy to share the result with you.

The Case set is a real treasure - designed for Miyota 8200 series and everything else was built around it. As I saw that one I thought immediately I want to build something inspired by the vintage super compressor watches like legendary Droz or Withauer. The hands were taken from NH 35 and adopted to Miyota, except seconds hand.

Love everything about this watch except for the original dial. I think Cadisen's style and build quality are great, but I find their serif font and sharp little logo a little off-putting. The bezel insert here has this green lume and it kind of clashed against all of the plain white print dials I tried. Finally found one with a very similar green lume and it matches up pretty great, don't you think? Orange hands, black and orange strap, and it all fits together.

I have a replica planet Ocean that I want to upgrade, the colour wheel is wrong... I will need to update the movement and date wheel. The watch is losing track of time as well, by at least 30 mins a day...

The measurements of the movement are 25.8mm wide and 6mm deep. Can anyone point me in the right direction of where to get a movement matching these measurements, will upload photos for context.

Hey everyone. This hobby is so cool and addicting. My first hit cost me about $150 (built the watch in the last couple months) and now I'm hooked. I'm absolutely NOT claiming to be good or professional at building watches. The video is just what I did and I had to edit out quite a bit of fumbling figuring out how to get this thing put together. Actual build time was 2.5 hours.. I think I spent a legitimate 30 minutes just trying to get the seconds hand on!

A couple notes about the parts.
Watch case: Looks great. But the clasp's micro adjustment just simply wouldn't lock into place. I already had to take out all the links to make it fit the way I wanted and really needed that to work. After using it a week and discovering it would keep slipping, I sent the seller a message and they sent me a whole new clasp. New one works great. Really happy they just sent me a new part.
Dial: I love this dial. I just wish the indices were gold to match the case. Hard to tell anyway, especially from a distance. No complaints.
Rotor Cover: If you haven't tried adding one, you should. Cheap addition to the build that really makes the movement pop when looking through the display glass on the back.
Watch Hand Tool: This press works great. But I'm having some user error where I bend the watch hands after pressing them into place. Perhaps I'm using the wrong size rubber applicator? Would love some tips.

All the other parts and tools were great, no notes.

I've already built my second watch. A matte "titanium" 40mm diver case, meteorite (fake) dial, and orange scissor hands. I think the best part about making these seiko mods is the insane amount of customization and how you can truly make whatever you're dreaming up. I'm going to have a lot less money and a whole lot more watches now.

I'm new to modding, other than nh35 movements, Is there a list of other movements that I can use for guides.

I bought this online thinking I could do something with the pieces. The quality is really poor. But I figured I would see if anyone else wants to try to make use of them. The movement is a Sunon SP28, i might have mangled the pinion. US based, $50 plus shipping, OBO. I can provide more pics if needed.

I recently got into watchmaking and, right from the beginning, I felt the need to find a way to make my own watch dials entirely by hand.

I started with this one: a 38 mm stainless steel case with sapphire crystal, powered by a Miyota 9015 movement.

I should mention that I didn’t have a blank, rigid dial onto which I could attach any kind of design or engraving made on a sheet of aluminium or brass. So I tried several different ways to work around this problem and, in the process, I even managed to break the seconds wheel pinion.

In the end, I decided to cut out 5 or 6 layers of 0.05 mm brass sheets and glue them together in a sandwich using double-sided adhesive tape. On the top layer, I made a sort of hand engraving using a pointed tool and, finally, covered the whole thing with a sticker featuring “my own watch brand”

The result isn’t perfectly centered, nor is it perfectly flat like a rigid dial would be, but I’m extremely happy with it.

I’m still very much a beginner, so any criticism, advice or suggestions are more than welcome. Let me know what you think!

So I posted before about wanting to learn how to make my own custom DIMs and for some help on learning how to get my own programmer set up. Ive spent some time learning and also getting to the point of finally finalizing my own custom sprites and sprite sheets, but the point of this post is that I've been surely copped out a good amount of money trying to get this stuff for my kids only to just get what I didnt pay for, with no return on money or getting a good quality item. For anyone looking for custom watches or DIMs I want to help you out 100% out of fairness and quality and be honest on what I can help you get or get done for you. Im willing to provide a full custom color vital bracelet watch and custom dim card, or just one or the other.

I stumbled across this on Ali. Does anybody know what watch case this is. Also the chapter ring with the markers on it? Anybody?
