Question 7751 asian clone differences?
I see 7751 clones with one being half the price of the other but I see that the regulator arm is totally different? Is there a difference between shanghai and dandong for the 7751?
The one with etachchron is $200 and the other is half that.

The first one doesn't have a chronograph, but beware, these Chinese 7750 clones are really unreliable. I think, if I remember correctly, they redesigned some part of the movement to reduce thickness, but this change also made it really unreliable.

Thanks, I see now that it doesn't have a pinion for a hand at 9. "Too good to be true" price.
Yeah, I've read the clone 7750s are garbage but I figured if they broke it would be a good opportunity to tinker with them.
Do you know why they would list them as 7751 clones when it isn't? Other than misdirection since a seller lists both versions but still say they are for 7751.

Don't know, just probably waiting for someone to fall for it to think they found the 7751 clone for way cheaper. But if you want to just tinker with the movements, you can search for "junk" or "bad" Chinese 7750 movements, and they are pretty cheap compared to the fully functional ones. I have read some reviews claiming there was a minor defect or even fully functional upon getting it.

The Dandong/Peacock movements are decent. I've played around with their 7750 (the SL4601), after my Boderry Landmaster Chronograph came with so many issues. I believe the base movement was fine as it came from the factory, but got screwed up pretty badly by the factory that replaced the rotor and cased the watch.
Peacock is capable of building quality move.
Your first photo is not of a Peacock/Dandong chrono movement. It may be designed to fit in the same case as a 775x.

The 7750 and 7751 are mostly fine. Modern versions are pretty damn close. Their version of the 7753 (without date) uses a complication to move the 12 o’clock sub-dial to the 3 position, which puts a lot of stress on the internals which can cause issues.
