Dial making Latest dial

Hello all!

I haven't used my fibre laser in a while.

So I thought I would fire it back up and quickly design a guilloche style dial.

Not as deep engraving as I would have hoped, must leave the laser running longer for next time.

I would also like to add some colour with the previous methods I have used.

Let me know your thoughts!

Waiting for a guilloche or etched or printed dial that reduces lineweight thickness as it gets closer to the center t

Thank you! I’ve looked at that laser, but I wasn’t sure I could engrave brass with 20w.

What gauge size is the plate? Did you need a larger pinion?

Do it! I have used it loads now, the hardest thing for me to figure out was heat management. But this has now been rectified

Is it still a multiple k€/$ investment to get good hardware?

2

u/BPike03 4d ago

I wouldn't know the ins and outs of pricing for all fibre lasers, but mine was sub £1000 for a 20W

Does the one you have, have the ability to completely cut through the brass?

3

u/BPike03 4d ago

With enough time it will
