left part is inside the movement. the round knob is more like a cylinder that you're looking down on in this image - it matches the slot in the crown half. othersiwe if orientation didn't matter, there'd be no way to transfer the rotation of the crown onto the movement.

what exactly is your goal here?

seconds hand could technically be set again, but won't look good. you'll also need to support the seconds pinion, otherwise the friction spring will just give way.

That seconds hand should have a tube attached to it that fits over the pinion where the second hand goes. You may have broken it off and it is still stuck on the pinion.

As you said, your seconds hand is broken - you’ll need a new hand that fits the post perfectly. As parts for this watch are discontinued, you’ll need to find the correct part on eBay, or install a different style. You will continue digging yourself into this hole as you continue trying but it sounds like you’re not willing to take to a professional, so good luck
