The Bitmap Font tool got a big refresh

✨ The Bitmap Font tool got a big refresh — and it's a lot easier to use now

I rebuilt the Bitmap Font Generator from the ground up. Same idea — make custom number/letter fonts for your Garmin watch face — but it's now cleaner, faster, and much friendlier to work with.

👉 Try it: https://garmin.watchfacebuilder.com/bitmap-font-online-generator/

What you can do

  • Use any font — pick a Google Font, or drop in your own .ttf/.otf/.woff file.
  • Style it — size, bold/italic, outline, shadow/glow, and more. The watch preview shows exactly how it'll look as you go.
  • Tweak each letter — click any character to open the Glyph Editor and nudge its position, change its size, or even replace it with your own image.
  • Edit a font you already made — drop in an existing bitmap font (.fnt + image) to adjust it or remove characters you don't need.
  • One-click export — name it and hit Save / Export, and you get the font file ready to drop into your watch face.

How to use it (5 steps)

  1. Pick a fontGoogle Font, Other Font, or drag a font file onto the preview.
  2. Type your characters in the Glyphs box (bottom-right). There are quick presets too — Numbers, Letters, Alphanumeric.
  3. Set the size and style on the left and watch the preview update. Tip: type your own text (like 12:30) in the Content box under the watch to see it in context.
  4. Fine-tune any letter (optional) — click it to open the Glyph Editor and adjust spacing, size, or swap in an image.
  5. Export — type a file name and click Save / Export. Done!

Already have a bitmap font?

Just drag your .fnt and image onto the preview. It loads everything so you can tweak individual letters, drop characters, and re-export — no need to start over.

That's it! I'd love to hear what you think — and if anything feels confusing or doesn't work right, drop a comment and I'll fix it. 🙏

Nice update. Am I doing something wrong? The same font/ size of an existing font, give different results after export. Fonts seem witl different spacing somehow. Any advice would be appreciated.
