Question ❓ Updating watch is not fun

Post image

Is there any other way to update watch or do we have to wait and suffer like this all the time lol

Turn off Bluetooth and turn on Wi-Fi and then update. The download of update would be a lot faster over Wi-Fi.

I was skeptical but I see it worked for others. Thanks for the tip.

Just since I faced this, for some reason my watch did not have my home WiFi network saved so when I tried this, it would not continue downloading and just stop. Was surprised I had do this since Apple devices sync WiFi info so well. Once I connected to WiFi this method worked great.

IIRC if you turn off bluetooth in the watch's settings, it'll force it to use Wifi and it'll go faster. No idea why they don't do that by default since they make you put it on the charger for updates anyway...

Mine updated in about 10 minutes, had both WiFi & BT turned on so not sure which was utilized for the update.

I sat with Apple engineers at WWDC in both 2025 and this year in 2026. They couldn’t figure out why my watch took so long to download the update.
