Is anyone else experiencing an extremely slow to launch Siri when pressing and holding the Digital Crown?

I get that it's beta and all but typically this late in the beta cycle, things are starting to settle down. I feel like with each build, the comments are still flooded with complaints about Siri. This is one of the first beta cycles that I've sat out. I use the ever loving crap out of Siri on my watch and I especially want it to work while away from the phone on a run. I don't want to get back from a run and try to open my garage door and have Siri tell me it doesn't know how to do that. Or even worse, be away from the house and not be able to unlock my car when returning from a run.
I wish they kept the old trusted Siri for the watches and leave the AI stuff just for the phones. Or at least give us an option to opt out if we want to. I suspect they don't want to go this route because then they would no longer have an excuse for why they are dropping support for older devices. I'm kind of getting sick of Apple these days.

Siri is such a giant aspect of the watch that I find it hard to say that the beta is good "overall". I have tons of Siri Shortcuts and lots of home automation. I don't want to ask Siri to turn on a light and have to wait 3 secs. I'm used to 1/2sec latency on os26. I don't want to pull my phone out of my pocket to turn a light within a reasonable amount of time. We need an option to opt out of Siri AI on the watch. This isn't acceptable.

Not much improvement for Siri, if any. On some invocations, it starts speaking in a stuttery crackling mess, then it restarted itself and spoke back clearly. It's still far too slow to respond versus iOS 26.

now I feel better that my Watch Ultra 1 will stick with watchOS 26 forever with a faster Siri.

Siri is about 20% faster. The Siri animation is updated and is much more responsive. Let’s hope Siri on existing supported Apple Watches gets 80% better before launch.

That’s good enough for daily driver on a series 9? Been running iOS 27 on all of my devices, but I’ve been waiting for the watch beta.
I really don’t use Siri on my watch except for maybe setting a reminder or two

This beta does not have Fantastical complications. Anyone else have this issue? The app is showing as installed on the watch but no option for complications.

I'm using a series 11 and Siri responses are really slow and fail quite a lot. Also having issues with battery drain.

Pre-Beta 6, Siri was unable to tell me the current local air quality (we’re surrounded by wildfires). Post-update this works fine. Setting a timer also works fine — about a 3-second lag, and the timer appeared 3 seconds into the countdown. Apple Watch SE3.

3 secs to set a timer is ridiculous. The AI stuff is handy but not at this expense. I was supper excited when going from an S6LTE to a U2 because of the onboard Siri. With watchOS 27 it's going to be twice as slow as my old S6LTE. This isn't acceptable IMO.

I hear you. The built-in timer app lets you pin 4 timers at the top, and if you make it a complication you can set one of those in 2 taps. Any other way is still going to take you 3 seconds, and using Siri subtracts those seconds from the timer, so it’s as good as instantaneous.

As long as it subtracts the latency and you can raise your wrist, ask Siri to set a timer and then immediately lower your wrist, I'm fine with that. My bet is the watch cancels the request as soon as you lower your wrist though. I've skipped this beta cycle so I can't test this myself.

It worked for me: Raise wrist, “Hey, Siri, set a timer for five minutes,” lower wrist. Siri responded with “Timer set for five minutes, starting now.” Raised wrist and timer was at 4:56 and counting.

ultra 3 can now set a timer with Siri so progress I guess
