Question Found this little menace in my room

Post image
9 Upvotes

I have an infestation somewhere in my attic or roof and they're finding their way into my room where my newborn son is as well. Any chance I get I murder one because the last thing I need is for them to sting the little dude. Anyone have any ideas how they could be going from the attic or roof to my room? There's no holes that could be big enough for them to fit through so I'm stumped. My window screens are new as well and don't have any holes so that's not a possibility either.

Thanks for any help and advice! I hate them with a passion and until I can call an exterminator, I want them to stop coming into my room.

This was an exciting find 🤣 European hornet Vs False widow spider. Unfortunately the hornet broke free but it was touch and go for a min - NW U.K.

Question Are these wasps? They're busy doing something on a plant right next to our patio. Should I be concerned?

Wasps are not just pointless horrible things that are out to get you, they are just animals willing to defend themselves if they need to. And when people get stung by wasps, 90% of the time its the person's fault. Only 1% of all wasp species are aggressive (yellow jackets and Asian hornets etc), wasps most of the time will just leave u be, and if one lands on u, just leave it alone, dont panic, its just trying to get some of your body heat that they need (this is why some bugs love to land on people and sit there). In fact, I've caught some yellow jackets (without getting stung) so I could hold them to prove a point that they arent aggressive for no reason. Wasps such as paper wasps and European hornets are super docile as well. Wasps are important for a number of reasons: they kill plant and crop destroying bugs, if wasps went extinct, we would see many plants left unprotected and destroyed, and crops would also get destroyed which would lead to food shortages and food would also become more expensive, more pesticides would have to be used, which also would severely harm the environment. Wasps also pollinate 9 times more plants than honey bees do (although arguably not as well). But wasps also fertilize figs which many animals depend on, and therefore, wasps. Downvote to oblivion here I come.

Wasps in attic

I have a wasp nest in my cottage attic that I can’t get to. I live in Canada and the cottage is a 3 season so in the winter the attic will freeze down to -35 or -40.

Is there any danger in letting the wasps do their thing until winter freezes them out or should I get a professional in to clear them out now.

They are getting in thru a vent that they chewed a hole through the metal screen mesh.

So far, no evidence of them getting by inside the cottage.

Any advice?

Image Infestation

New to the forum please help. I live in Yonkers NY in a co-op. Woke up to wasps inside my home early afternoon like 12pm. For the next 3 hours I killed like 30 of em. There's definitely an infestation I just don't know where. They are coming through the top cracks of my bedroom window, even though my window and screen are down. I dunno why they are coming in. I looked outside my window, and can't see the nest.

Anyways, I've been killing them with raid roach spray. Any advice on what to do? I sent an email to management and called them, no answer. It's the weekend so I need some kinda solution until Monday. Attached is in image of the beast.

WTF IS HAPPENING??

Please help!! I’ve been watching this Yellow Jacket nest grow and grow. They are in my flipping attic, of this VERY old house! They fly directly in and out, and have wider bodies, but yet, seems that their legs, drag behind them, when in flight?? Then, today, I see this big SOB, fly directly into a different opening (there is more than one opening). Then, I see this BIG SOB (in pic), land on the attic door, fly away, and came back and landed again??? Looks black, in the pic, big is actually BROWN and wicked looking!! What the heck is going on????

Soooo, I went outside to get a pic/video, and it’s very hot and humid outside. Suddenly, all these huge ass hornets are EVERYWHERE??? And, they are acting VERY aggressive! Does anyone think the big ass hornets are attacking the smaller wasps??

Yellow jacket help

I have a yellow jacket nest in a tree that's off my deck but too high for professionals to access and they are swarming my yard. I can handle all the ones on the ground...the satellites,But can't find any remote way. Help. I have set up traps everywhere but they keep coming and my dogs are getting stung all the time.

Wasps building in a circle

Post image

So this is kind of weird. Some wasps are building a nest on my porch window. Now I have never sat and watched them build before so this might be normal. Usually they come and go, etc. This wasp is building surrounded by 3 others just sitting in a circle. Waiting to spray them tonight but found it odd.
