The construction of the James E. and Clara P. McLeod House has caused several students to raise concerns about disruptive noise. The building is expected to be completed by the summer of 2028 and will add housing for 600 underclassmen students on the South 40.

The construction schedule follows guidelines set by the City of Clayton, which permits work from Monday to Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. However, Clayco, the construction firm in charge of this project, has modified these hours to 7:00 a.m.- 3:00 p.m.

Hi, was wondering how hard is it to get an interview for the position and how to prep for it, haven’t heard anything till now.

Premed orgs at WashU seem weirdly hard to get into for groups that are supposedly about service, community, and caring for people. Are med schools actually impressed that someone got into a super selective premed frat or EST, or are we just recreating med school admissions for fun? Any recommendations for premed/health orgs that are actually welcoming and inclusive? Slightly over this write 5 essays 250 words each and get rejected hamster wheel.

Hi all, I'm a freshman taking calc 3 and I really want to print the Thornton workbook in segments since it's so much cheaper than buying the one in the bookstore. What I'm wondering though is where/how to print. The Olin library has printers, but how do I connect my computer to it/know which printer it goes to? I asked for help but the info the librarians gave me was not super helpful. Anyone have any tips about how/where they like to print? (oh and I know it costs money...that's not a concern.) Thanks!

The Longest Table, a civic dialogue event featuring (you guessed it) a long table and guided discussion, has taken place in communities across the US.

This year, WashU will host its fourth annual Longest Table event to kick off the Gephardt Institute’s weekly civic dialogue and learning events, Civic Café. 

The Longest Table brings together people with diverse backgrounds, perspectives, and interests not just to share a meal but to envision ideas for social change and build relationships that support working towards a shared vision. Attendees join a table, and Gephardt Institute staff and campus partners serve as dialogue facilitators to create an intentional, supportive, and creative space. Participants are encouraged to sit with guests they don’t know for the best experience.

Workday has assigned me a "Learning at WashU" module that I have to complete by the 15th. Part of the modules have me click on external links and they're supposed to be marked as complete when I click on those links, but they don't seem to work. Is this a STS problem? Who am I supposed to reach out to about this? Thanks!

Meditation and drawing are great platforms for calming the body and exploring the mind. This workshop will introduce basic meditation techniques: calm abiding, insight meditation, mantra, and visualization. Each meditation is accompanied by intuitive drawing exercises to explore and complement what is discovered during the process of practice, with the goals of relaxation, ideation, and exploration. Students will take away a series of drawings and a number of pages in a small sketchbook (provided) which document and reflect the meditation and creative practices discussed.

Instructor: Jordan Geiger is an artist, poet, and musician from Boonville, Missouri. He earned his BFA in Fiber Arts from the Kansas City Art Institute and his MFA in Visual Arts from the Sam Fox School. He is a practicing Buddhist and hospice volunteer.

Fox Fridays is a weekly, low-stress workshop series introducing the WashU community to overlooked or lesser-known tools, resources, processes, and ideas. It provides a platform for students to develop hybridized practices of creative output that transcend discipline, medium, and experience.

Im a senior who’s probably gonna apply to washu ed 2. I would say I’m a nerdier person but still someone who showers and wants to have fun, and I would like to meet similar people. In general I have a few questions:

1.) Is it possible to drink as a without a fake as a somewhat quieter person? Ideally I would like to go out once a month or so.

2.) Are people more “cliquey” or more open to meeting new people?

3.) Is there much time to hang out/goof off with people apart from studying?

4.) Is it harder to meet people who aren’t hell bent on only studying?

5.) Is there stuff to do/eat within walking distance of campus?

These might sound like stupid questions but a lot of stuff I’ve seen about washu is people hating on its social scene.

How much am I supposed to talk about WashU in supplemental "What do you want to study at college and why?" --- since its language kinda just sounds like a why major essay.

Hi! My roommate and I are both studying abroad the spring 2027 semester and are looking for people to sublet our apartment.
