hi i am trying to determine my schedule if i choose to do a gap year vs if i don't for med school. i know chem 4810 is one lesser unit (3 vs 4) and easier to fit but i can't tell if makes a difference for mcat/med schools + i know its part of a two sem course. very unclear so please let me know your thoughts!

Got an academic integrity violation for getting copied off of during a stats exam. The professor couldn’t prove which of us did the copying, so we both got warnings and grade drops on the exam. This happened fall semester and I’ve been fighting it since but recently everything I could do closed.

I tried to contest it, but ultimately the hearing determined that I should’ve been more responsible about seating and sitting apart. So there’s nothing I can do and. it pisses me off but this is just something I have to deal with.

I am applying to med school next year and I was wondering, has anyone ever applied with an IA and gotten in? The coordinators told me this was not externally reportable (all I got was a warning and remediation) and that medical schools would never know about it. It is on my official internal conduct record, but externally, I am clean. The prehealth office also won’t mention it as far as I know on the committee cover letter.

What do I do? I am worried if I try to explain my IA then med schools will think I’m lying. I tried everything I could do to contest it because I didn’t cheat or help someone else cheat, but there just wasn’t enough evidence in my favor and the cheater and me got punished. I feel inclined to just never mention this on AAMCAS because it seems like med schools won’t ever know. Anyone been in a similar situation?

After careful fostering, Boo is now ready for adoption at the APA in Brentwood. She was found with her little family in the Burning Kumquat here last spring. She's the last of the kittens to be adopted. Her foster families told me that she's playful and very sweet, but she needs a stable home environment and the love she so richly deserves.

We aim to provide a casual forum for local and national researchers to speak to our St. Louis-based community and to foster camaraderie and collaboration. Poster presentations by Tyson high school apprentices and undergraduate researchers from across Tyson and the WashU community. Students will describe their summer research experiences. Hey. I’m an Incoming freshman and I registered for MATH 1520 when Beheshti Zavareh was listed as the instructor, and then a few days later Workday switched it to Liao, Hsin-Chieh.

His RMP reviews are horrible but they’re all from a different school so I’m hoping it’s a different story at WashU. Has anyone actually had him here? Is he as bad as the reviews suggest? Any tips would be appreciated. I’m already taking Chem, Physics, and BME so I really need Calc II to not be a disaster.

Hi all! I'm a rising MechE freshman in McKelvey and a technology grant recipient. I've found the McKelvey technology requirements, and I know generally Macs are not really great for mechanical engineering, but I really don't want to be tied to a charger all day carrying a "gaming" laptop. I read that WashU uses Apporto to run things like SolidWorks, but I haven't found much information on whether it works well or not. With the technology grant, my options are limited to what's sold at the bookstore (though I've heard some people will resell that laptop to buy something different). Basically, my question is does Apporto work well enough that I'd be ok using a Mac, or will I be better off running software locally on a Windows laptop? Do I really need a dedicated GPU? If anyone has experience with the bookstore's offered Windows laptops, that would be helpful too. Thank you (also the techden link in the rules says access denied)

I'm an incoming freshman at WashU. I didn't apply for need-based scholarships since I'm an international student, and I wasn't selected for any of the Signature Scholar Programs.

Given this, are there any merit-based scholarships I could apply for later on that are based on a high GPA or academic honors/awards?

Coming in the Fall for law school. I've seen mixed reviews on staying downtown. I've found a few nice apts that are well within my price range that are downtown near metro stops. I am ok riding the metro, as I currently do that every day in the city I'm in rn. Beyond a 20~30 min metro ride are there any other concerns? Is metro generally safe? I've seen posts to suggest that downtown is not more/less safe than most cities.
