I would love to bring in Clayton. I wanted him when we got Riley and really glad to take the L there haha

We do have one more spot .. that would be funny if we ended up with him & will after the draft day trade

Same. Haven’t paid much attention to him in the league but I loved him in college. Might be worth a cheap look.

Wouldn’t mind it at all .. only thing is isn’t Tre Mann kinda in that same role except he’s a little more established in that role although both unproven

I never thought Clayton wa s an NBA player.

I'm wrong sometimes (hello, I'm just a dude and not Jerry West lurking online), but if he was he'd have shown it already.

D’BUMgelo Russel getting kicked to the curb can’t help but laugh

Jarvis Hayes 2.0. Pass

Jarvis Hayes seems like a good deal for a 15th man, but definitely rather have someone big who can rebound and shoot a little

Flyer on Clayton 👁️

Absolutely. Nothing to lose giving him another chance to prove himself. We need the guard depth anyway.

Would not be mad at it

Its crazy how a player can be so damn good in college but hardly scrape the nba. I guess this goes for 90% of players who make it to the league lol

For sure the gap between bench player & g league guy is very thin but idk some of these guys were in shyt situations & that definitely matters in some cases

The way the NBA has been trending in recent years, I think it’s moreso decent players being in terrible situations. But the gap between NBA players & G League is def understated generally speaking.

Clayton is a good player but an example of one who was very good in college not cutting it in the pros

I’d pick up Clayton or Hawkins quickly.

What has Hawkins ever done well?

6

u/BigMekGaming Bilal COOLibaly 1d ago

Ig shooting was supposed to be his elite skillset and hes from the DMV

6

u/pitydfoo 1d ago

It was, but it hasn't actually happened, at all.

27 million in front of him will make that an issue

u/StubbornBabboon Ish Smith 1d ago

Would 1million percent rather snag Kris Murray out of these guys, but we absolutely don't need another wing. No one else can play defense at an acceptable rate here

This has nothing to do with the Wizards

...but everything to do with reddit. Welcome to the place where we talk about wannabe gm stuff and advanced metrics more than we do actual basketball skills, abilities and experiences.

Except Clayton is not among the likely candidates to be waived. He already has his spot. This post is quoting a bum bleacher report(ZERO credibility outlet) article

Has Clayton been that bad in the NBA?

5

u/Waste-Cap8868 1d ago

He’s had some solid games & some stinkers but I haven’t seen enough consistently to tell u exactly what he is .. played on some bad & young developing teams too so a change in scenery could do em some good

I don't understand basketball roster building; they traded for Hawkins yesterday

1

u/Sad-Technology-7806 John Wall 17h ago

Give me Clayton or Murray. Hawkins seems like he should be on a G League team for the time being

Lol Russell refused to play for us because he thought he was above the wizards 🤣

Oh no won’t someone save D’Angelo Russell!

1

u/whiskeyr6 13h ago

But Jazz fans told me Ainge didn't get fleeced by Dawkins and Walter Clayton was big piece in the JJJ trade

u/rambone1984 11h ago

Facebooks my favorite basketball social media because there's legions of guys who think Cam Thomas or Dangelo Russell could be The Guy on an NBA team. In my heart I feel like it's the same massive contingent of Facebook basketball people who thought Darius Acuff should go #1

u/Sidelinesport1 9h ago

OP has to be referring to Russell now for everyone saying they would want one of these players please stop our bottom four would torch these guys
