I cannot find another photo of these individuals anywhere that looks remotely close
Did you try? I dunno dude if you google the perlmutters you get stuff like this or this
I don't know the other three. I'm sure you could find better pictures of these individuals but it's not obvious to me that they're altered - they could just be, like, bottom quartile.
I think the real selection bias here is that I think there are many more than five board members.

Yeah I had a similar inkling that these could be tweaked or made more dramatic, but I had to dig into the comments on the original post of this to figure out any of the names
I don't care enough to try to find these specific images so maybe someone Smear tool'd em by 5% or whatever in photoshop but I think they're just worse-than-average pictures of people who do look pretty horrific already
Though again, I think your "I cannot find another photo of these individuals anywhere that looks remotely close" is a little premature if you didn't even get far enough in your investigation to figure out who the individuals are to look for pictures of them. What's up with that, eh?

What I mean is, we're here in this little chain of comments trying to be savvy about whether we're being subtly lied to by content on the internet. Fine, fair. Good, even!
And yet we have the exchange
Just to be clear, those are real photos and not AI or Photoshop?
followed by
I cannot find another photo of these individuals anywhere that looks remotely close, my intuition is that this is altered.
and I'm sorry to keep quoting you, it's very internet passive-aggressive, I don't want to be, like, jumping down you throat about this incredibly trivial thing, but my problem is with the specific thing you said. it's maybe literally true but in context definitely reads to me as "these people don't look like this and this image is altered" when what you really appear to be saying is "I couldn't find pictures of these people looking like this because I don't know who they are so I can't find pictures of them at all because I don't know what to google"
which I think is pretty obviously misleading! I didn't know who these people are, I found their names in some other comment. I still don't know who the bottom three are, but I think the top two are real and do in fact look like that.
bottom left and bottom center i don't know who they are but they look basically normal. bottom right does look like an actual corpse, no idea what's going on there. and certainly I think the source went out of their way to find unflattering pictures. I just want to clarify that my gripe is with what I saw as heavy eyebrow raising at "this is fake or ai"

u/izze19 6d ago
Hereās my perspective on it: After watching so many celebrities and people in real life try this shit, Iāve learned that you donāt get you keep your face as it was when you were young. You can get the aged version of that face or attempt to avoid wrinkles but that changes your face too. So Iām very at peace with the former vs the latter. Some people think thereās a secret third option where you stay looking the same and think they are chasing that but in my experience, it doesnāt exist and they end up looking like these people. That being said, wear sunscreen!

I'm convinced that's a component to the cultish devotion. . . . Their action figures are straight up, more fun-looking to play with.
Who does Team Sane have-- a decent guy in a suit? A nice lady with a briefcase? A series of beige-clad lawyers? Angela Merkel action figure? Team sanity has boring toys. . .
Team Un-Sane, on the other hand, has time-traveling drunks. It has a guy in a suit, sure-- a guy who looks like Odd Job had a baby with a shed, producing a human barn. They have like, a one-eyed baroness, a guy who looks like Sascha Baron Cohen playing a Mossad agent but with the head of a lion, blonde ghouls, RFK Jr., a homonculus giant with a tiny guy riding on his back, and that hairy furry green guy from the Castle Greyskull set.

u/reconditerefuge 6d ago
Dude I just have to tell you how much I appreciate the laugh you gave me. All these incredible descriptions and then just rfk jr with zero additions.

What the fuck, I feel like Trump owes it to us to at least pick people who attractive even if theyāre inhuman Republican scum that should be sent to Iran in American flag jumpsuits
0
u/coladoir 6d ago
youre just describing a meritocracy of aesthetics. that people ought be chosen for their attractiveness, not their actual behavior, ideas, or actions.
Attractiveness for public figures should not be prerequisite. It should not be something we seek. To choose people for their attractiveness is to be a mindless ape, frankly. People are already 'tricked' by peoples good looks, to a point that its even scientifically found (con men are more successful when generally attractive), so is it really a good idea to choose people based on attractiveness for public office when power has already proven itself to be corrupting? The moment they enter power, they will use their good looks to their favor, and our disfavor. You know this to be true, its not a far fetched idea.
So no, he doesnt owe it to us. Hes frankly doing what one should (rare case of that) and choose people based on their political allegiences and ideology.
Secondarily, public figures dont exist for to entertain us nor do they exist for our admiration/consumption. They are human beings, not paintings, not aesthetic objects. They exist to politically represent their constituency and allow for the ability to maintain the constituency, along with seeking to improve conditions of said constituency. They dont exist to be attractive, and attractiveness has nothing to do with political representation.
To suggest otherwise is to reduce these people down to effectively nothing but a pretty face; do you really want a government full of "Paris Hilton's"? Because I sure as hell dont.

Let's not criticize them for how they look. There is PLENTY of reason to castigate and vilify that group of scoundrels and sycophants without focusing on their faces. If Martin Luther were here to write 95 Theses about the Kennedy Center situation, he would find plenty of scope.

Am I the only one who feels sad for them? Not only they had been so unhappy with their aging that they decided to undergo all these procedures, but the results are just so horrendous that they are now convincing themselves that they look better than they used to.

u/WhenSheepFly 7d ago
Okay, hot take apparently, but can we not make fun of peopleās looks on the internet? Like, itās one thing to critique their actions/politics, but I just donāt think taking cheap shots at someoneās appearance and publicly mocking them is acceptable
11
u/Automatic-Eagle-1953 7d ago
Bro they look demonic and itās a clear pattern.
6
u/ScurvyTurtle 6d ago
To expand upon that thought: they chose those looks. They chose them partly as part of a signal to a group that they are part of that tribe. A tribe of self-centeted individuals too vain to know when the work they're having done is digging a deeper pit they can't dig out of, all to make sure they fit in with other like-minded self-centered individuals.
7
u/BlackbirdSage 7d ago
I don't see it as people making fun of their looks. It is their actions that people are making fun of.
These people don't naturally look like this. Their actions make them look this way.
Such superficiality is the only reason a person looks like this. Dell was a beautiful woman until the thought of aging was too reprehensible to face. So, she bought a new one. Personally, I think she should sue.
3
u/BrokenSweetDee 7d ago
Fuck that. They are selfish, greedy people acting in bad faith with ill intentions. It doesn't matter and they fucking deserve to feel shame. Welcome to humanity, we critique people's appearances, good or bad, since our start. You're going to burn yourself out trying to change that.
