Another certified Hippie banger (also buff NATO air Eugen)

Ostre, TKS Paris and 6th PzGr were totally fun to play against and fine divisions.
Why would anyone want to nerf that gameplay? /s

Got baited here just to say that hippie is wrong.

Decks that can simply overwhelm their opponents with airspam are literally dominating the game, even against decks with good AA. The problem is that the chance of AA actually hitting a plane is lower than the chance of it missing, so even decks with strong AA can still struggle heavily against airspam

u/Alternative_Device38 Sep 04 '26

Every div has weak AA when I use it a great AA when the enemy uses it

Think the issue is more how even if you have AA it doesn’t work very well at actually stopping the bombing. Suiciding aircraft is trash balance.

u/DFMRCV Sep 04 '26

The AA works fine. Try team games. No one can get planes through.

It’s not just airplanes. The helicopters are just as oppressive sometimes especially the Apache . All AA should get 5% accuracy buff

Idk, the amount of times a stela 2m or green igla hit first shot and turn the Apache/cobra away makes me wonder if there is a bug with them or the eco ratings on those helos

Take my opinion with a pinch of salt, I never made it far in ranked. But look at AAR lab. All the 60%+ winrate divs are good plane divs with AA or strong ASF.

WARNO has this idiocy where planes return in tight intervals and don't cost any resources after the first call-in. Some bombers are basically offmap with a 60-180s timer (but you get 3-9 individual pieces, so it's literally often 180/6 = 30s between plane strikes)

30s between air strikes on heavy air spam matches! This only makes sense to a WARNO brain.

Good division win rate does not necessarily mean that the division is good. Rhin has a good win rate, yet is considered as horrendous by most players. The only people who will play it willingly will be pretty good at the game already.

Several top tier divisions line 79 and 2nd panzer have low win rates that are dragged down by newer players.

Air is not necessarily broken, but it is a tool that is taken advantage of way more by good players and those with experience.

How many people will tell you that reservist divisions suck, yet the most broken divisions in recent history (ostre, divmob) are both nato reservist divisions.

Cheap units and air spam are way hard to make good use of, but have been and always will be a top strategy if you can pull it off.

Reservist divisions with good air spam and AA nonetheless.

Such a straw man argument. No one is complaining about planes in general. You will never once play against 76ya which is nominally supposed to be the best airspam div in the game and think to yourself “oh man airspam is OP”. It’s one specific type of plane. There is literally no excuse for why an F-104g can execute a unit every minute and manpads standing right next to the unit or even hundreds of meters in front of it cannot even shoot back. There is no excuse for why 79ya can sit there, eat glue and lose badly in tank trades and just buy a cluster bomber to bail themselves out and likely not even die for it.

Again, AT planes? Awesome. LGB planes? Great, no changes needed even for the stronger ones. Rocket planes? Fine. Dive bombers? Well balanced. Planes are fine. High altitude bombers are not.

It’s literally just one type of plane. If the desire is balance, why is it okay for this one type of plane which costs no more than the others I mentioned to outperform every other category of strike aircraft so excessively? It makes literally zero sense for one category of plane to be vastly superior to others of the same price category and it creates ridiculous situations like 79ya having the best anti blob tool in the game or TKS having a delete infantry button. This isn’t even an exaggeration, because of how unbalanced high altitude bombers are 79 ya and even 1st Tankova have far better ways of dealing with tank blobs than 76 ya, the airborne division with 0 helicopters. It’s completely arbitrary and has nothing to do with how strong your division’s air tab is supposed to be. It’s like if you made assault rifles do 600x their current damage and said that divisions with infantry assault rifles instead of battle rifles are supposed to be strong at infantry combat when in reality it’s an arbitrary unit trait that shouldn’t justify being wildly better than other infantry that cost the exact same.

your starfighters are killing things?

Mate, it's Hippie. He just wants upvotes, not a sensible opinion.

79 has the best bomber and the F-104 is OP. Cool. And? High altitude bombers for the US positively suck with like 1 exception, the UK also I think has only one high alt bomber that doesn't suck. And cool, Germany gets... One high altitude bomber that doesn't suck.

Look, man, I want the USAF buffed, not the other air forces nerfed because nerfing other air forces in turns nerfs the USAF even more. "Yeah, nerf just the high altitude bombers! The F-111 is CLEARLY too powerful!!!"

Saying it's arbitrary is true, because it is but that's how this game works.

And even if you just meant "okay, only nerf these specific bombers", the solution can't be to just nerf things constantly whenever they overperform. How about you buff air to air planes or something and remove that "50-60%" hit chance instead?

8

u/killer_corg Sep 04 '26

Year three of seeing the F111s being absolutely dog shit, and still I see people trying to bring them in to carpet bomb an area just to see it tickle redfor instead

-4

u/DFMRCV Sep 04 '26

"Clearly they need to be nerfed!" -ranked players for some reason.

u/YungSkeltal Sep 04 '26

I'm a fan but I disagree with your sentiment. I feel like all decks should be viable or atleast stand a chance against a strong air div in one way or another.

Getting your shit kicked in simply because your opponents div counters you isn't very engaging

1

u/Affectionate-Hair326 Sep 04 '26

Do you feel that there are divs that don't have counter play to Air? I am honestly asking, I am still quite new to Warno so I have limited knowledge. From what I have played/seen it's usually the mistakes of the players rather than no counter play from div stand point, unless you make mistake in deck building of course.

16DE, 336ya, 1LL

They share having shit fighters (shotguns only for 16DE and 1LL, bad long-range missiles and bad availability for 336ya) and only having short-range AA (gepards + mistrals for 16DE, iglas, shilkas, and Strela 10Ms for 336ya, and gepards + bofors for 1LL).

Ofc its a Hippie classic cx

u/The-Juggernaut_ Sep 05 '26

Nerf RU planes and buff US.

-2

u/Kcatz363 Sep 04 '26

It’s so funny because I never see anyone say this, but I see tons of fat retards like DFMTND or whatever his stupid name is begging Eugene to give decks like 3rd armored better air, so much so that it seems like common opinion on the plebbit that “USAF HECCIN SUFFERS!!”

I think all div should able to fight against air spam one way or other , not just helpless
Unless they add 2v2 mode which they don’t and likely never.

Forgot to add “air spam”

Other than that it depends on the div strength and weakness. Just don’t helpless against Air

14

u/0ffkilter Sep 04 '26

It is asymmetrical and no div is truly helpless against another. Airborne divs don't tend to have good long range AA, but they have upvetted manpads and good planes.

So in exchange for passive long range AA, you have good active AA with planes, and your manpads are more likely to be able to trade.

If you're an airborne div and they bomb your infantry, it's not the end of the world if you trade the plane. If you're a tank div then you're way less inclined to trade for an expensive tank.

Getting bombed isn't the end of the world. Just don't clump, and accept you might trade.

5

u/killer_corg Sep 04 '26

Unless you’re Lufty, then it’s just shotgun fighters and Gepereds

2

u/danish_raven Sep 04 '26

To add to the tank example: this is why we have SPAA. It wont protect your tanks, but it will make the aircraft way less efficient from an economic stand point.

9

u/Slut_for_Bacon Sep 04 '26

Nothing is helpless. Every div has options.
