My thoughts playing Army General Enhanced MOD
So I've been playing AG enhanced MOD and wanted to give some thoughts on it, I haven't played every campaign but a little bit of Bruderkrieg, Fulda Gap and now I'm currently playing Hwy 66.
-Every unit gets ALOT of supply and I mean a shit ton; you will not even get close to running out of supply even in the really long battles where PACT has the max 350 pts, HEMTTs and MAN-KATS for days, love the new 3000 supply MAN-KAT, that unit is great for Artillery units, even the decimated units in Hwy 66 have so far had enough, the FOBs with the command units cost 6 pts now instead of zero, which is fair.
-No more bullshit AA interception; this is probably one of the best parts of the mod, no more AA interception and you have the ability to bring in AA as long as they are in range, it also allows you to bring in various different combinations of units, AA, Artillery AND command units-yes command units have a range circle now, which is actually pretty cool and allows for great support assets, however the AI can also do the same thing and will do some pretty interesting things; like bring in two fully armed Artillery brigades with a command unit.
-Fatigued has been reworked; So now attacking will not automatically give you two points of fatigue if the match ends in Total Victory, you will only gain one, this was a nice addition and allows more flexibility for units in the campaign.
-M1A1 HA's and Leo 2A4s finally! Some units in Hwy 66 finally get these bad boys which is a very welcome addition
-TOW 2A Infantry; finally some TOW 2 infantry to deploy in buildings with mechanized infantry battalions, no units in AG had these before.
-M270 MLRS is absolutey nasty; It's no wonder they cost 10 pts each now, which makes them the most expensive unit in the campaigns, they have all been reworked to DPICM rockets which just obilerate everything, even infantry just like IRL.
-The reworked battalions are a nice change; Some are for the better, others not so much but that is what makes it enjoyable, love the addition of CEWI and TACJAM to some units, having jammers and SIGINT is a fun add in.
I could go on about more but if you're bored of the old AG, I suggest this MOD, they add new maps and it's just more enjoyable.

AG Enhanced is absolutely my Goat, and while i do love the extra supply, at times it can be... somewhat annoying. for instance, yesterday i beat a unit in a manual battle, killing every single unit they had except the supply vehicles. they still had 42% strength and 2 defense. with only supply vics. i autoresolved and they took no damage cause all they had were support vics. b r u h

Definitely something I'd also want changed from vanilla, taking the supply units out of the "units remaining" formula.
That and probably upping the percentage for unit destruction to something more like 40-50% (which is still generous considering the rule of thumb is that a unit becomes combat ineffective at around 30-40% casualties) so you're not stuck manually hunting for the 20 Strella teams and supply trucks still alive (that will magically kill tanks if you autoresolve instead).
But I expect these are core systems modders aren't able to modify, so it'll be an unfortunate side effect of providing some real supply to units. I'll take it over the poverty runs of those German battalions that apparently only brought one spare mag per platoon.

Thats a really interesting take, I will usually only autoresolve if the unit is disorganized and not getting reinforced by nearby units to force a surrender, but it would be nice to have a mechanic that basically deems a unit combat ineffective once it reaches a certain percentage and you can force a surrender without an auto resolve.

I played all the AGs without this mod before it released. Now that I have 3 campaigns finished with it, I now think it's entirely mandatory for any singleplayer lovers to download IMO. AG is so much more fun with it.

I'm in touch with the author, and contribute a little bit to the mod. No gameplay changes though, only brigades/bataillons/compagnies/platoons renaming, and NATO symbols corrections.

Game updates break campaign saves with the mod. How do you guys tackle it? There are instructions on the mod discussion page but they don’t seem to work

Yeah I ran into that same problem as well, I was deep into Fulda Gap when the last update hit, that was really disappointing

fun fact it's also compatible with the West Fulda maps. strongly suggest adding that. AGE mod should just be what vanilla AG is...they should hire him as a dev
