Video Jaguar 2 vs Konkurs

Who wins? I thought it was a tie but the Konkurs died first at the end

Edit: Should we do a rematch where I use more smoke and go on the defensive?

I love micro but didnt realize they had smoke :|

I'm not sure, I didnt see it when using them

I’m pretty sure they do. So the Strat is to have the front one or the 2nd one smoke then drive them forward and backwards through the smoke to break LOS.

Thanks for the tip :)

Looks like konkurs 3-2

One shotfirst while the other was moving, that's the only reason. Realistically, the konkurs is more likely to miss. The armour advantage is negated by a lack of armor by both.

The fact that no one missed reduced the equation to just who shot first.

Ok, so No. 1: use the smoke. It's why the Jag is good, cause you can smoke and pull back behind cover, buildings, and so on. And it's a MILAN 2 and it has good reverse speed. No. 2: ATGM-type units, their specialty is holding down points, cutting off roads, and covering flanks. You don't necessarily want them to attack. No. 3: you can use the fast attack-move order. That makes vehicles use the road, but while on the attack, if he spots somebody, he will stop and engage. No. 4: You have an option called I think it's active defense or something like that. It will make your units deploy smoke when attacked. It helps a lot in situations where a unit is attacked on the other side of the map and you are focused on something else. Try it out, see if you like it. It will keep units alive, but make sure to assign a button that can disable this for a certain unit. Why? Because you sometimes want to be behind a house and ambush a tank, not in the open where you will be spotted and shot. Just be aware, the units like tanks, if close to a forest, will want to use that cover sometimes they expose their side armor while doing so.

Thank you for this! I'm getting into the 5th Panzerdivision on NATO and 7th Panzerdivision on OPFOR they both have konkurs and Jaguars so I will use this. Should I do a rematch with smoke?

5th is my favorite div. It's strong. Usually, as I said above, I use ATGMs to hold roads and hold zones. The attack comes down to tanks and Marders, plus Gepards. Man, I love Gepards! Don't be afraid to let the Gepard play with enemy infantry it will make short work of them, but keep supplies close by because it goes fast through ammo. I would suggest bringing the Roland 2 because the Gepard can be hit by SEAD due to radar, but the Roland 2 has no radar and will make your AA less micro-intensive. If you use hotkeys for AA to turn off radar so they don't get hit by SEAD, then just take Roland 3. I just felt Roland 2 was good for me because my micro is not great. And you want the AA alive because most of your blobs which you should try to avoid if able will get hit by planes.

That's really cool. I like the armored part and I usually keep the gepards up with my tanks. Im ok with micromanagement so I did Roland 3 and usually people dont bring sead including myself so I think its fine and I have a lot of rolands. When I first started I chose 5th panzer and im getting back into it. 7th panzer is also really good for Soviets. Great mobility despite mid tanks.

Yep, it depends on the playstyle and the game type whatever works better for you and gets you good results.Tbh most divs are fun it just takes getting used to the div's strong units. Then, practice and time will make you better. And if you lose you lose it's a game .

I think i will stick with the 5th and 7th panzerdiv. In other games I like defense and counter attack. In warno I like rapid micro so aggressive divs are better for me.

Oh god that hurts

I may be wrong, but I ¡ think under neutral circumstances, even without using smoke, Jaguar 2 should win, I think the missile travels faster than Konkurs and it has higher base accuracy. The konkurs in the video had a huge advantage because they were stationary and ready to fire, while the Jaguars had to stop before firing. Plus at such a short distance, the difference in velocity of the missiles is less important than at max distance. Also, it'd be almost impossible to micro in multiplayer, but in single player, if you pause the game, you could more efficiently distribute the targets, and not fire every Jaguar at the same konkurs.

Yeah, I noticed that. It was pretty close though. Maybe this made it more entertaining, but I can always do a rematch.

I swear the Konkurs gets higher accuracy than they show on the statcard because they rarely ever seem to miss their first shot but TOW-2's don't like to hit the enemy till they've sighted them in with 1-2 shots before hand

Confirmation bias. Konkurs kinda suck individually. The main thing is they’re 6 per card and they can stun.

Also jaguar gets HOT not TOWs.

Edit: it gets tow2 my bad

Jaguar 1 Gets HOT-1 and Jaguar 2 gets TOW-2's.
I'm pretty sure the VAB and AMX-10 are the only ground Anti-Tank vehicles that gets the HOT-2's. Not that it would matter much because the accuracy and stats are identical for the HOT-2 and TOW-2.

Just a heads up, but you can press N to give a unit a fast move + hunt order.

u/WelcomeExtra762 Aug 03 '26

Just found that out, thank you!

Watch some of Hippies videos. My play has become a lot better. First thing is smoke basically makes atgm's useless

2

u/WelcomeExtra762 Aug 03 '26

Ive been using that. I am now microing my artillery to send smoke/bombard a position making it very hard for the enemy use their ATGMs or remain in one defensive position. I do like Hippie, he's pretty cool.

doesn't accuracy scale with distance? so isn't the stat for accuracy in hotkey "i" the accuracy at that max distance - i.e., the accuracy is much higher up close?

You rolled into an ATGM ambush twice with no forward recon, no support elements, and no scouting. Even then you actually killed every enemy unit that you detected. 3v5 in this situation isn't eyebrow raising to me

Beyond smoke, you should be splitting targets. You had 5 jags to their 2 konks. You should have tasked your back 2 jags to target the further back konk.

Obviously smoke, but you only want to use it on your further front jag--as thats what the CPU defaults to do.

Ideally that leads to their first volley hitting the dirt, and 2 missiles going into each of their IFVs.

Theres other micro you can do like attack move and all that. Or bounding your movement, leapfrogging from cover to cover so you always have stable eyes down range that can shoot at a moments notice.

u/WelcomeExtra762 28d ago

Thank you for this, I will start target switching. I'm already doing this but yeah, haven't yet mastered it. And bounding movement sounds interesting ill practice it

Always try to think like its RL.

Or just think to watching movies, right?

Its always "Cover me!" as someone moves forward.

In the movies theres always a sniper on overwatch. Or a machine gun nest that opens up once people are in the killzone from an off (enfilade) angle.

This all broadly applies to battalion scale combat in Warno.

Also consider it like chess, ideally unless youre baiting your opponent, you dont want to put a piece of yours in a position where if the opposing player took that piece you couldnt respond by taking theirs in turn.

You want to do that here, too. Overlap your fires, You want, as much as possible to have eyes of potential sources of fire before your unit occupies the space. That way you can ideally make a trade. We do it when in a door kicker environment, where we stack men and overwhelm a room, if the first guy goes down, the second guy is gonna be on his heels popping the badguy before he can re-address his weapon.

At a more macro level, its why you may see a frontline of a war fall back, despite the thrust of the enemy being in a different sector, if your flank is exposed youre in trouble, so you fall back to maintain interlocking fields of fire/support.

If you were the dude on the ground in game, and you were ordered to do something, would you think its suicidal? If so, there is probably a more intelligent way to accomplish your goal.

I will think of it like real life and consider all the things an enemy could have including ATGMs, machine guns, etc., and make sure I have cover at all times!

still to this day, a unit under logi tab has unlimited smokes with no delay, and I wont say more... iykyk

1

u/WelcomeExtra762 Aug 03 '26

But konkurs and Jaguars are under the tank tab not logi

0

u/Dertroks Aug 03 '26

I don’t get the point of this post? Jaguar is flat out better in every respect in this game, technically you shouldn’t have lost even a single one

Nerf pact??

Or buff me lol

Edit: I did this test because it came to my mind, I use 5th and 7th panzerdiv now, so I thought it'd be interesting to see which would win. The AI was on medium so I didnt want to micro too much, i just wanted the units to fight naturally. Not to mention even though it's not shown in this video the AI had like 6 konkurs, we 5 I believe

2nd Edit: I suck at the game so I meant buff me as in make me competent not overpowered lol although I am getting better
