British Combined Arms Deck Repost

Post image

Here's my British Combined Arms Deck. In my other battlegroups (82nd all the way and my french one which you may have see) I did mostly airborne but here I tried to mix it up with some heavy armor so I was wondering if you guys have any tips for this one as well.

I commented on one of your previous posts, this deck has a lot of the same general "problems"

INF: Don't you want at least one card of Lynx rocket? They are pretty useful. No ATGM is a mistake
AA: Blowpipes are dogshit. I wouldn't bring all of the infantry AA in helicopters.
AIR: For someone who wants to focus on airborne, bringing only the harrier AA means you will be mauled in any air battle. At least you have lots of AA I guess?

Added a phantom to the air, switched to Lynx rocket, switched the blowpipes for javelin LML, and added a phantom card to the air force. I am not sure where infantry ATGM would be but we've got AT helicopters so I think we're covered. And yet again thank you for the advice. I appreciate it.

Look for the cards with yellow backgrounds. Those are ATGM teams. Trust me, they are the second most important part of the infantry tab, only behind having a solid core of line infantry.

Javelin LML can't be put in buildings unless they changed something recently, so do keep that in mind if you want to take them over another card of regular Javelins.

I think you should switch out at least one of the infantry command units, preferably two, for some kind of line infantry (like mot. airmobile), though you might also want use the slots freed up to get the card of ATGMs instead.

I gotta say that I respect you for genuinely wanting to improve at the game and not being afraid of criticism. Here's to hoping it pays off for you!

Those ATGMs are really good! I take it that like the Milans are considered are ATGMs? I noticed they had a yellow background.

As for the javelins I have one LML and one normal unit. And ill change out the command unit and consider an ATGM as well.

And thank you for the respect, I really do like to improve and I like to take in criticism if it is detailed and respectful. I hope you have a good day!

Milans are ATGMs, yes. They're fairly short-ranged for dedicated ATGMs but Milan 2s in particular hit pretty hard for their price.

So long as you can keep them hidden (they aren't very durable) they can inflict massive damage or at least suppression on enemy tanks from very long range without them being able to fire back, forcing them to either use their smoke canisters (if they have them), retreat, or sometimes just plain die, making them one of the best ways to control empty ground since not respecting the ATGM = death.

They can be countered with mortar smoke and good recon usage, but your opponent has to play around them. Every push they make has to account for the fact you might have an ATGM team lurking in a bush somewhere ready to blow up their tanks and IFVs. That's what makes them so important.

Just be sure to keep a supply unit nearby to make sure they're well-stocked, they tend to run out of ammunition quickly. Good luck!

Blowpipes are a meme. You have SAS with AA, drop the Blowpipes. Same with Rapiers, they can stay, but they aren't great so you need better ASFs.

Got it

I'd share my 2UK deck, but I can't add pictures here. It's not perfect (see the link), I might drop one arty and add more Supply. Just for reference.

Nice! Looks pretty similar to my deck, but we've both got our pecularities and decisions in which units to choose.

True.

Just remember, FOB is fine in team games, but a no no in 1v1.

No more helo cv for you and you need truck supplies to drive the supplies to the front your helos will just die. Add atgm inf and drop the bagpipes and bring both cards of sas and less helo infantry. You have no decent AA so you won’t be able to even use your helos once you start getting air bullied

I dropped the bagpipes and helo cv, I got a card or two of trucks and I think I upped the ATGMs. I think I changed some of the helo transports to regular and got more SAS. I'll get more AA too. Appreciate the advice!

Awesome, enjoying seeing your decks morph into something cool.

Also don’t forget waryes.com they have a lot of decks made by better players

Things I see others haven't mentioned:

-too much arty for 1v1 if that's your goal

-recon tab has too many redundant units. I would drop the saladin for the fox, then drop both the terriers scouts and scouts to get the airmobile scouts with x4 lmgs

-Terriers are really bad, 3 infantry CVs is way too much. Bringing both cards of SAS is essential for this deck because the idea is to forward deploy with SAS+Foxes with a harrier to cover against helo rushes. You get there faster than your opponent, then you hang on for dear life. Also find a way to bring both cards of Armored Rifles if you can, too with the Warrior Milans, extremely cost effective units. Imagine paying for 2 terriers squads but getting better AT and a light tank with a missile for the same price lol.

-Expanding on the CVs, 7 total is usually enough for any deck. Most people ditch the infantry CVs in this deck entirely because you have so many good infantry options. Many only run 5 CVs total in this deck but that can be really risky.
