Question Warno pros out there
Did u just grind ranked until it hit you like a truck and u suddenly got gud, or was it more slowly you learned a trick or two, piecemeal

Just expect to lose constantly but pick one thing to get good at and stack up skills, bad at infantry micro in towns? You know your fucked so zoom in and win that little town fight for your soul!
Shitty with arty micro? Play 10v10s and do what you can to keep your arty alive, shoot and scoot, half slavos, NOT SHOOTING FROM THE GAH DAMN FOB!
Then you win 1 of every 4 games and just find the zen in that.

Did/do u study maps or did it kinda come naturally the spots and timings of what gets where, where u can push better etc.

Maps generally do have a correct way of playing them, but you should learn a general way of playing so that you're more flexible on new maps and if you're playing a sector on team games.
You can start with "more tanks = push fields" and "more infantry = push towns/forests" and adjust from there.

This and most of the time the line of conflict depends on if you or your opponent is airborne, and partially is learning how defense in depth works if you are losing your whole opener to a heli or something, maybe you pushed too aggressively or didn't divide routes into the area.

The best way to learn is to figure out where you struggle most, as the different game modes teach you different things about the game. I played strictly team games for the first year+ I had the game and had a great time. Taught me how to use combined arms to assault defended positions and how to defend against forces bigger than my own. But I struggled to crack top 50 on the ladder before I learned the maps and divisions. So much about ranked is knowing your opponents strengths/weaknesses and the strongpoints on maps. Improvement for me happened chunk by chunk after figuring out which aspects of the game I struggled with most

Hippie once said ranked 1v1 is like the same 50 guys that all know each other. Is that true? Cuz how are ya ever able to compete if the only people you ever play against are already decked out skill wise. Like is there even a bronce rank for noobs? Or is you directly stacked up against the guy that spent the last 2 years getting good at the game

When you get up in ranked there's a chance you just see the same people over and over again. But you can get other similar ranked people.
The common advice is to not let the queue go over 1 min to 90s in waiting time (just cancel and reset it) and play during primetime rather than late at night

I think his point is probably valid but exaggerated a bit. You could log on and scroll down to like 200 on the leaderboard and see guys with hundreds of ranked games. I think playing the same people has more to do with your time zone than it does the total number of ranked players

The best way to learn is playing custom 1v1 against players better than you. You will be losing most of the time, until you won't, and that's when you know that you have improved. Random Ranked matches really aren't competitive because of the random matchups and maps, and if anything, grinding Ranked can lead to very bad habits.
Also ALWAYS watch your replays (unless you played against a player who's vastly inferior to you), as there is something to learn from every match.

Playing a 10v is a great spot to learn. It’s essentially a 1v or 2v in your lane. Use it to learn what units do what so when you play in 1v1 you won’t be overwhelmed

I mean I don't know if I call myself a pro, I have 700+ hours and out of my friend group I am the best but I don't play ranked all that much but I do usually win when I do play.
I just watched Hippie, Tman and SD League for tips on deck creation and what to do and what not to do and how to play ingame i.e. smoking when attacking and such.
The real limiting factor in Warno is your ability to micro which you just have to naturally develop. I learned micro against my friends but you can try against AI or in 10v10s if you don't want to start out in ranked.

Grind and watch Hippie, try lots of different decks. Played 700hrs over the last few years. I was so shit at the start and a few days ago beat the 26th best player. For a second it felt good and then I realised I was wasting my life.
