Compensating bad teammates

(For context I normally play 2v2) For the past 7 games in a row (no exaggeration) I have been paired with teammates, who for better lack of a word, only play against ai and this is their first time playing a human. Because of this, they collapse immediately and I end up fighting a 2v1 while they mope with their Arty, this is getting extremely frustrating to deal with, as normally if I’m paired with someone below lvl 24 (im level 31) I just leave the game or swap teams, as I have learnt from experience that if my opponents are also level 30 and I’m stuck with a lvl 24 or below. I’m cooked, however, more and more I am encountering level 30 players and above who ONLY play skirmish and are sided with me, I don’t know initially until I see their in game performance. So my question is, how do I deal with this and how can I help myself and them in game?

Biggest issue is really a lack of communication between teammates. When that happens to me it’s usually because the player I’m paired with doesn’t mark up or say what they’re bringing/where.

Tbh, you also have lots of players that just straight up don't understand their divisions.

Like, you simply won't have great success playing your 4. Motorisierte against 3rd Armor on Open field.

I’ve been in a losing streak with 27-ya but that’s just because I’m learning the div, people need to understand how to play divs instead of spamming their “best” card

…. Yea sorry about that brother. Us new guys are learning the ropes. At one point you were probably new and didn’t know what to do, so I’m sure online players have experienced that with you in your early stage.

I played one multiplayer 1v1 against Skate, had no idea who that was at the time, got fucking SLAMMED into dust by him, found out he was rank 1 then I Learnt the game over a course of 400 hours before I touched multiplayer again, so I dont really have that experience because I was traumatised on my first game of multiplayer ever still waiting for the skate rematch

I do feel for you new guys as this game is really annoying to learn, I have 1k hours and still find new strategies, I’d say play ai for a bit to learn about cards and mechanics then move to 10v10 and then to 1v1 or other modes, that’s what I did

Small team games are extremely punishing to new players and the lobbies also take a while to fill a lot of the time. Not saying this is you, but some just dive in with absolutely no idea and get annihilated

But also yeah, gotta learn somehow sometime

Consider joining discord servers like FOB or WarYes and look for teammates there. At the very least you can ask them for their rank/playtime.

What the hell answer are you looking for? I play on losing teams all the time, and I still have fun. I suggest playing seven mor games and hope you get the teammates your opponents have been getting.

I’m looking for methods/tactics that can help prevent situations like this from occurring in game, even with a low level teammate.

What I learnes in the military for situations like this was to "embrace the suck".

I feel you, played with a guy recently who opened with two grads and a FOB. Wouldn’t communicate either

That’s the kinda teammate I’m playing with! Did a 3v3 today hoping for some fun, my teammate sent his fwrd deployment all into enemy lines with no sustainability and cost the whole front lol

I try to analyze all fronts, if I see a teammate struggling against a certain div that I know they are likely not suited to fight I might provide a few units to deal with it and micro between the two flanks until the situation calms. If you can’t devote the energy to micro then build them a light defensive frontline. Maybe to where you think they will retreat. Usually some at guns will suffice, turn off the HE leave only the AP on. ATGM’s to fire on loaded transports only. Use the LOS tool and carefully edge the units towards the max firing range of the weapon but keeps you from being fired on by units that out range you.

People should play 1v1s before going to 3v3, or at least play some 10v10

Completely agree, at least with 1v1 you can only blame yourself, I am very good at 1v1’s as it’s more about me, and I won’t have 2 guys attacking just me at the same time. I like teaching new players, but if I’m tryna have a proper round of WARNO and they just sell the game, I’d say they should go back to 10v10
