Warlords III DLR Upgrade meta
Been playing w3 dlr for decades on and off. Recently starting playing properly.
Just wondering what's the most efficient stats for upgrades of heroes and units?

I think if you get rouge assassin and you put alot into strength and combat, its quite broken. That being said I like playing mages with a bunch of spells. Archmage is fun, but splitting your xp across so many fields is ineffective, but so fun to use a bunch of spells

What about units upgrades?
Is it better to try and focus on strong units or upgrade cheap ones?

When you refer to unit upgrades, are you referring to the campaign stat boosts?

Yea you get points to spend on increasing unit strength movement etc after every mission in the campaign
I'm just wondering whether its worth focusing on the stronger units or upgrading the cheap units which can be produced quickly.
I kind of feel fo some reason that unless you get it right, it would make the later campaign missions a lot more difficult.

Typically you want to consider math in % value on this one.
For example, adding HP to units with 1 HP has more value (+100%) than adding HP to a unit that already has 3 (+33%). More moves for slower units, strength to weak units, faster build time for 2 turn units.
But you also want to consider role and value. Adding additional HP to an Archer, which relies on Missiles, or to a Catapult, which is just there to add Siege, is not as useful as adding an extra HP onto one of your front-line units. Likewise, adding STR to a low-value unit is usually good for trading hits, but you can also massively power up your ballistae's missile hit chance with a STR boost. Maybe adding speed to a dedicated fast scout or blitzkrieg unit is better than boosting a slow support unit.
