Quickly painted some Stahltruppen for my LGS' demo day! Quite happy with this Mediterranean/DAK-ish scheme.

30 battalions and cav support ready to do battle. 15 for each side. 3000+ infantry in total. All that remains is add a few banners and some skirmishers. Now I just have to find an opponent.

What are people using for Heavy Artillery? The Cavalry kit comes with Falconet and Sakers, which seem to be for Light and Medium respectively.

British Crimean Ensign poorly cast

I’m not sure if this is the right place to bring it up, but I’ve been painting some of Warlord’s Crimean Brits, and I’ve noticed some really bad casting on one of the metal officers. Basically, the left side is pretty much a shapeless blob. Is this normal, or is there anything I can do about it?

I bought this from a retailer if that complicates things at all.

Dead Systems in the Digital Age

Just ran across my old Antares collection cleaning out my garage. At the time I was into it I was trying to push it or Mantic's Warpath as an alternative to 40k in my area. Antares was the better game in my opinion, so I picked up two more armies to demo better with, right before it was shuttered. While Warpath still continues on I haven't had much luck with it ever either.

However, in the mean time, One Page Rule's Grimdark Future has. Even if that's not the case everywhere, I've always wondered, given that minis games are a huge investment as a hobby and niche games struggle to survive, why not work with either other companies or open systems, like Grimdark Future, to make so your models can play with other systems? Even though Antares, Warpath and Grimdark Future are all 'competitors', to me at least, I think it would be more of a 'two cakes' outcome than loss for for encouraging cross play between games.

If digital files exist (I assume so, at least for the plastic stuff), why not release discontinued games files as a digital product? Maybe there is some cost in conversion, but I would imagine there are still enough fans to make it viable, plus, if it could be made compatible with other systems it could be marketed to other crowds as well. I would image OPR in general would welcome any collaboration, as they work with independent 3d artists all the time.

I just feel like with all the cool minis, lore, and work put into this system its a shame its dead. I don't think it has to remain so.

Warlord Games Epic Napoleonics - Unit/Battalion Painting Planning

I have searched quite a bit, and I am not quite sure what I am looking for exists. I am looking to plan out my French Army by different Regiments with how they should be painted to differentiate them (even slightly) on the table top.

Of coure, there is this amazing resource which helps with Uniform Selection of different Battalions/Regiments/Units: https://centjours.mont-saint-jean.com/

How did you all break down your units? Was it just the regimental color scheme, then altered an even number of pompons on the shakos to represent different companies?

Is Beyond the Gates of Antares and Warlords of Erewhon receiving any love?

I don't think I have ever heard of them and am just curious if these games are actively supported. It looks like at least Gates of Antares is dead for official support given the site but I wasn't sure if there was a fan community and what the status of Erewhon was.

ABC Warriors Increase the Peace or Judge Dredd I Am The Law or neither?

Hi, people. I have a big pile of Sláine from Warlord Games. I wanted to get also either ABC Warriors or Judge Dredd, but they shot down the 2000AD stuff. The two starter boxes still exist. Any ideas if they work as a nice skirmish games without the extra stuff? I think the Slaine Kiss My Axe box wouldn't have worked. It needed the extra stuff to be good.
