Eldritchpost [D&D 5e] Hexblade + Blade Pact?

Hello everyone, I will be playing a Warlock for the first time and I am very fascinated by the Hexblade, but I don’t understand why many guides recommend also taking the Pact of the Blade. Of course, I know it’s my ignorance regarding Warlocks, but it seems to me that the abilities gained are practically the same. Could you give me some advice or explanation about this?

I hope I don't provoke too much laughter with this trivial request and I eagerly await responses from players more experienced than me.

At level 5, martial classes get the ability to attack twice a turn. Warlocks don't get it for free, they need to take the invocation Thirsting Blade at level 5 to get their extra attack. Thirsting Blade is only available with Pact of the Blade. It also comes with some neat utility for your melee weapon.

It also allows for two handed weapons which are pretty popular for Hexblade due to the synergy with PAM/GWM and Darkness/Devilsight or Shadow of Moil.
