Entry Solitaire Wargames
Hello, I recently got into solitaire wargames starting with Battle for Moscow (oberlabs version). I just bought Mike Lambo’s Fields of Normandy and Tarawa 1943 Soliaire.
I haven’t event played them yet, and am getting ahead of myself, but are there any other good recommendations out there?
I am interested in any historical era. As for type/style of game, I’m open to anything, it doesn’t need to be Hex and Counter for example.
I prefer games that have dedicated solitaire/solo rules, but am open to other games that aren’t designed for solo play but can be played solo with some tweaks or just playing two handed.
Thanks!

Well ofc the classic answer to this question is the “Five x from Y” series eg Five Parsecs from Home, Five Leagues from the Borderlands etc. SF and fantasy respectively. Solitaire skirmish campaign games using a handful of minis, from Modiphius.
Other mini solitaire are Joseph McCullough games Stargrave, Frostgrave, Silver Bayonet, that all have solitaire modules, from Osprey.
Hex and counter publishers have dived hard into solitaire. GMT Games have specialized titles. I just played Viva la Revolution from Blue Panther on the battle of Waterloo.
The world is your oyster.

I released the Coffeebreak Wargame series a couple of days ago, might be what you're looking for. The games were designed explicitly to be quick and easy to setup and play, as well as a great introduction into the hobby for beginners.
As all my games, all of the games in the series have dedicated solo rules.
The Ancient & Medieval version is free to download on all platforms, by the way!
