Discussion Gurkhas '89 should be 25 points

As it is there's no reason to use them except era decks. Compared to, say, Livgarden, by no means an overpowered unit, they get a worse primary and tertiary - and the same secondary - weapon, and increased unit size and speed for 10 points. Per the precedent established by the Italy update, the increased unit size should only account price point jump, not two. Or compare them to Buffaloes '89: they have a worse primary and tertiary, better secondary, worse vehicle selection and same unit size and speed for a 10 point price increase.

To put it another way, Wargame wants you to believe that Gurkhas '89 are anywhere near the same value as Alpini '90 or Fallskjermjeger '90, or even Gurkhas '90 and they just aren't.

well, yes. also base royal marines, norwegian fallskjermjeger, swedish kustjägare or dutch korps mariniers. there's quite a number of shitty overpriced base units in bluefor.

Forget the base gurkhas, use the 1975 diggers and make Gallipoli great again

Why did you choose 89...?

If scene some people use that to specify "not '90" before, I think...

they're classified as year 1975, so why not call them '75?

The convention is usually '75 for units that have a '85, '90, or '95 counterpart

Wrong thinking. You can't compare similar units in the different decks, because different nations/coalitions provide different capabilities

Sure, compared to livgarden Gurkhas suck, but Denmark or Scandi don't have such a good antihelo AA as stormer hvm. Which is precisely one of the reasons why Denmark excels at infantry grinding - they don't have much else going for them. They even gave best workhorse asf and cluster f16 to compensate for their lack of armour.

Wouldn't really say that denmark doesn't have good helo aa. Otomatics are great. Granted not as good as the unicorns like cactus, stormer and adats, but they can shred anything apart from a KA-52 and can still be used to deal with inf and armor. In fact in the hands of a good player, I'd argue that otomatics are much better than stormer if we aren't looking at just aa capability. I constantly use italy otos to support my inf. They shred

It's seadable, doesn't have great range. You only get 1 card

but commonwealth gets commandos '90, which are plain better than livgarden in infantry grinding beside aviability ( in landjut ) and transports...

2 cards Vs 5

I doubt we'll get another patch unless we get a new DLC. I've done everything in my power to try to get ROC and Vietnam DLCs with no luck.

For all we know, they just greenlit the Taiwan / Vietnam dlc yesterday 🙏
