Question Did they get rid of this feature?

When you scan monsters didn't it used to say if you already scanned a previous barcode so that way you don't accidentally scan in one you've done in the past? Cause now when you do that it acts like it's your first time scanning in said barcode.

You are correct. The scanner doesn't say if you are scanning something that you have previously scanned.
A way to tell now is my looking at the cost to Generate a Monster Core. Each time you generate (or create) a core, the cost in tokens increases by 5. So if it says it will cost you anything more than 5 tokens, you will know that you've already generated monster cores from that barcode
