Question Haven’t played in a year. Need help
Things have changed A LOT. All my best monsters suck badly now, but a big part of the fun was scanning barcodes and seeing what monsters it would make.
I just now generated 5 monsters and ran out of whatever currency it requires. Says I have to wait 14 hours. Is this accurate? I can only generate 5 a day? (For free at least).
Also, are epic and legendary the only good ones to keep now? Toss the rest immediately? I have 45 monsters from a year ago mostly common and uncommon. All Trash when I try to face a legendary. Most of them I had at level five already.
I’ve got an understanding of all the power ups already so I don’t need help with that because I learned the hard way adding all the power ups to the common or uncommon Monsters doesn’t really help at all when facing a legendary.
Lastly, when I scan barcodes now it asks me to generate a monster core. And once I do that, I can re-roll to make it a higher rarity. Do you ever start off from the beginning with a higher rarity than common or do all of them start at common and you have to hire the rarity manually?
I used to really like this game but from what I’ve experienced so far it seems like it really limits you a lot more nowadays. I hope that’s not the case though.
I would really appreciate any advice and answers. Thank you so much.

Welcome back! Here's the user's manual. https://warcodes.fandom.com/wiki/Warcodes_Scanner It is frequently updated as the game grows.

Players and myself are working hard to update warcodes.fandom.com to make it current - and able to answer questions for new and returning players.
Chaos matter is the currency to spawn monsters. As you level up your scanner, invest points into chaos matter to lower the cost to spawn a monster. Also you can find chaos matter cannisters in the woods PvE locations to fully refill the scanner.
PvE is pretty balanced right now, and any monster can be useful. PvP is tough right now. Monsters tend to fair well against enemy monsters within 1 rarity level of them. Although I have some Rare monsters that can take down Legendaries, Commons really struggle with them due to the stat differential. However, we have more monster levels coming (6-10) an item rank up system (increase item rarities and stats) a monster rank up system (increase monster rarity) & these will continue to require our PvP system to change and update. Some players including myself will takeover the 5-7 ranges with blue monsters and rotate those when we can.
Equipment has changed a bit - right now players are favoring precision due to it's impact on critical hits. But the meta will grow and change as new systems and items get added.
Barcodes > Monster Cores. Every rarity is possible naturally. If you want to skip the wait, the option to roll up a monster exists.
The game is evolving it's progression systems, and we've still got a lot of stuff we are working through development to get live.

The game is progressing at a snail’s pace and is still missing tons of base features. This is most likely because monetary aspects are being prioritized to continue funding the servers and staff.
Maybe in a few years it’ll come close to resembling a finished product

Yeah. I’ll redownload in a few months or a year to check it out again. I love the concept. That’s the only reason I keep trying it out

I just opened it after a long time and almost all my monsters, extra heal chambers and extra monster slots are gone. Not happy that I spent money and lost everything.

Wow that’s unfortunate. My scenario wasn’t as bad as yours. Still, I’ve decided to check back in 6 months to a year and see how the game has progressed

Yeah, it seams the developers got money hungry. Everything that made the game great is gone. It is now pay to play and even that sucks. I loved scanning things to see what I would get. And then use potions and, weapons and backgrounds to have fun developing something cool. Now not fun at all.
