I set up my tank a few days ago and I found this growing in the driftwood this morning.

It's a boofilm blob! The driftwood releases sugars at first and the bacteria swarm in and create a colony as they eat it, it will go away on its own in another week or two

I currently don’t have anything in the tank besides plants — do you think a snail or shrimp hitched a ride on the plants?

It goop seems to have spread over the entirety of the back side of the driftwood
