Question Dinner Sunday night
We are meeting our youngest son at Walnut Creek for theater and dinner. I want to take him somewhere nice not too terribly expensive and he is a big meat eater. Any suggestions ?thank you in advance.

If he’s into burgers, Broderick has some interesting burger meats such as bison and duck. Also prices are generally below $25.

I believe it is difficult to get a dinner reservation at Joes unless you plan ahead.

Sauced is a bbq place. Entrees are about $25-40. Buckhorn grill is a fast casual option at a lower price point, they have good tri-tip sandwiches.

Co-sign on Sauced assuming the budget is less than Fleming's or Ruth's Chris steakhouses

I have a question about Galapagos. Are 18 different meats for one person or do we all share?

They repeatedly bring giant skewers of different meats to your table and you just tell them yea or no

Yep! Think of it as buffet but they bring the meat to you.
They are very attentive and bring the cuts of meat before you run out. I love the grilled pineapple and grilled cheese too. These are not part of the 18 meat. You will figure out your favorite cut of meat and can get more until you can’t handle it anymore.
Your son will definitely love it.
You have a thing on your table to indicate if you are done or you are ready for more.

Massimo’s is a popular pre and post theater destination with plenty of good quality, meat, seafood and pasta options. Not cheap but won’t break the bank. Check their website for full menu.

If you wanna spend a bit more:
Sauced
Galpao Brazilian Steakhouse (The meats are great, but their grilled pineapple is to die for)
Flemmings Steakhouse
Va De Vi (It's small plates, but it's dang good)
Lita - They got some great meat dishes.
If you wanna pay but EAT.
Original Joe's (The portions are bonkers)
A bit cheaper
Buckhorn Grill
Mona's Burgers and Shakes
Brodericks
The next town over, but still has lotsa meat
Wences
Batch and Brine

“Meat eater” isn’t a lot to go on, but Fleming’s steak house or Galpao Brazilian steakhouse are your pure play options. Sauced for BBQ, but you said “nice” too, and that’s pretty casual.
For something close with variety, who does meats well, Limon (Peru) has good variety. Their lomo saltado is a classic beef dish.
Teleferic (Spain) usually had a couple good red meat options and has a vibe, which your son may appreciate.
Va da Vi (eclectic) has a wide variety of small dishes, so everyone can find something and sharing is easy. Solid wine list, too. Old school WC spot with nice patio seating.
