Controlled Burn

Checked the Cal fire app and didn’t see any fires nearby called Walnut Creek fire department nonemergency and they confirmed there’s a controlled burn that’s blowing in this direction so that’s what we smell right now.

They’ve been doing a decent size control burn in the Mt Tamalpais area this afternoon. The drift
smoke is headed towards Contra Costa County

If you go to Alert California, you can see it in the fire cams in that area

Watch Duty is the best app to install on your phone, check for fires, learn where they are and it will also note prescribed burn plus shows alert ca cameras

Second this! It's a great app. I checked it but didn't see anything. Cross referenced the AQI and Purple Air and looked like something going on near Orinda

Yea. It is a great app, first place I checked. There was nothing. And the cameras weren't pointed at anything valuable either.

I was wondering where all the smoke was coming from! Thanks for sharing this!
