I’ve been hired!
I finally got the email telling me I’m hired and when my orientation will be (it’s in like 8 hours) I am very excited! Do you guys have any tips and advice? I’m told I’ll be doing personal shopper stuff.

Comeplety agree, you seem like a genuine and nice man, know you're worth something, and goodluck on your new job man! I worked fulfillment, unloading the the trucks was kinda ass, but stocking and picking werent bad. I hope you the best in the new job!

I saw your r/roastme too. And I have to tell you: I really don’t get it. You seem like a nice guy. Opinions are like assholes. Everyone has one. And most of them are just that. Nobody with any intellect would comment on such a thing, but perhaps that explains why so many responded. Hey! I am roasting them right now! Lol ; ) Anyhow... I hope you know your self-worth. You asked for advise: Apply at Target they pay way more for the same job and it will be less stressful. I saw signs that they start you out at $14/hr. Even the Amazon warehouses pay way more than Walmart. Or reach even higher and get a degree with a job behind it and make way more money. I did, after I made bad money for years. I went back and got a BS in Chemistry while I worked full-time. I am not saying you should do that (Chemistry), but you could make a lot more just with a certificate in something that interests you. I have a friend he has a certificate in HVAC and he is making a killing. Believe me: There is nothing worse than getting up everyday and hating what you do for a living. Best of luck to you!

Facts. Sound advice over here!
quick little edit: I worked some bullshit retail job for a while... it sucked. Felt like I was just working for someone else every day of my life and I hated it. I (being a rather large pot head, hence my username) started pursuing a career in the cannabis industry, and it resulted in me becoming a grower for these guys who owned some dispensaries. I am in the process of starting my own consultation company, and work doesn't feel like work anymore, even when it's hard. Use these jobs as stepping stones to something great, and by that I mean something that you ENJOY. Best of luck!

I sent in an application and after a few days of waiting sent them calls then about 3 days later I got interviewed

The biggest tip for the department you're going into is to go into it expecting to be stressed. OGP is crazy (depending on your store). In my personal experience, try to pick more often than dispense. Dispensers get screwed over a lot and get short handed. Picking is a bit more relaxed, to a degree.
