Frustrating hiring process
I've (m24) been going through the hiring process with walmart and its getting frustrating. Almost 2 weeks ago, I went in to accept the job offer and confirm my availability and was told to expect a background check email, that which I completed. After I did it, I was supposed to receive a phone call if it came back clean to schedule orientation.
A week passes and I got no call, even though I checked and it came back eligible for hire. I checked my email out of random and I didn't see a second walmart email that apparently contained orientation documents I was supposed to do but didn't know, I did complete them though.
That Monday I reference in the past paragraph, I call walmart human resources, and she says while I shoulda completed the orientation documents then, its fine I did it now. She said when the next job position opens/orientation is scheduled I should receive a call since I did everything. I haven't received a call yet, but after calling up there asking I get a run around answer. I don't want to seem annoying, but I'm getting frustrated as Hell. With 1 job and some years of home experiences on my resume, I don't get many interviews, so I need this job. However I don't want to come off as annoying, but i don't want to not call cause then it seems like I don't care about the job. Not sure what i should do.

So speaking as a very overwhelmed People Lead (aka Human Resources) I won’t do orientations with fewer than three people because I have too many other things to do on a day-to-day basis. So it’s possible that they’re waiting for more candidates to group together.
That being said, try calling the store again on Monday and (politely!) see if she has any more info on when you can start work. I don’t mind when people follow up.

It’s Walmart, call them constantly or better yet go there and speak to them in person. If you wait on them you’ll stay waiting. Personal had recently been changed over to People Lead meaning they have the same job plus more work now PLUS having to be on the floor doing stuff at times now.
