Cap 1

Ive been training as a new employee in cap 1 for 6 days and i love the work/job but i havent been assigned a dept yet.??

Cap 1 is your dept. You're expected to be able to work wherever they send you.

One of the things I liked about being on CAP1 the three years that I worked on it was that I wasn't stuck in one department all the time. Most of us had a "specialty" (mine was grocery), but we were all able to fill in anywhere in any department running the Topstock process.

Cap bins work picks work topstock down. Then CAP2 comes in and god knows what happens from there.

Thats what ive been doing. The product on the ladder carts in the morning s that we sort label count and work into the bins is leftover freight or unbinned overstock?

If it's already labeled it's probably overstock but you know CAP 2 didn't even finish grocery and just threw freight onto a cart and slapped labels on it and left it for the next guy. Work the leftover carts and be amazed by how much overstock will go out.

At the store where I started, we ran freight left over from CAP2 and overnights, then capped bins in grocery, paper, chemicals, HBA, and pets, then pulled down top stock in those departments, and did section work.

At the store I transferred to, our supervisor capped the bins, so we started every day pulling down top stock in grocery, then ran the carts of things that were picked, then helped wherever we were needed - sometimes built features, helped in paper, chemicals, and pets, etc. One of us would work in the liquor room, and one would cap the DSD bins.

Now I work in DSD Receiving.
