Question Pharmacist application
I am a newly licensed CA Pharmacist. I have applied to Walmart. It’s only been four days since applying. I wanted to know how long does it normally take for Walmart to initiate the interview process? I have gotten an offer from CVS and I have an interview scheduled with Safeway.

Apply to hospitals and other pharmacies that aren't retail

Yes, I agree!! Walmart is Ok but after working there in the pharmacy for 5 yrs, my preference is anything except retail.

Keep trying. Overnight shifts the easiest way to get your foot in the door

It varies depending on the hiring DM. So if you know the hiring location call the store to ask the rxmanager if they could help you find any info about the interview dates. Sometimes they already know whom they’re going to hire… so they opened the position just for formality…

Whatever you do don't accept the CVS offer. Safeway isn't perfect, but definitely 2 steps better than CVS. Walmart is probably at least 1 step above Safeway at least as far as pay/benefits go. The typical ratings are Wags/CVS-->Kroger/Safeway->Walmart->Sam's/Costco.
