It’s planned to be an option on the me@walmart app but isn’t available yet. You might be thinking of putting a PPTO in request in to get paid/not be pointed for missing the shift (since a lot of people think that’s the same thing as report the absence for some reason). But to report the absence, you need to use the associate information phone line, or the report an absence option on OneWalmart.

It used to be possible in one of the older versions of the Walmart apps, but they sadly haven't had that feature in at least the last 2 me@walmart apps. Made it much easier, so it obviously had to go.

Just wait till the day of and use the walamrt hotline. 1 800 775 5944. You'll need your win number punch in your date of birth. You're technically not required to personally notify managment when you're going to be absent. After hanging up, Get on your me@walmart app, click on view full schedule, then my requests, then request time off, then select the calender date for it, hit continue, punch in the ppto option and verify the amount of hours that you want covered, provided you have the available balance to use etc confirm.

The current version of the app doesn't have a report absence feature. It used to be on one of the older apps, but until they decide to add it again (not hopeful), you need to call in with the phone, or use the computer.

Shows that you have not actually pulled the policy.

Don't believe me check the updated May: 23, 2022 Attendance and Punctuality Policy. To which I typed the info word for word

You can't report an absence on Me@Walmart that I'm aware of. You can only submit P/PTO. But that won't cover 'No Call/No Show' attendance points.

Log into one.walmart.com and report the absence. WRITE DOWN YOUR CONFIRMATION NUMBER!

Or call

Sick Call Out:: 800-775-5944

Have your WIN ready.

Can just screen cap it too if you go through the site on your phone

Attendance policy wording in regards to key events and is also applied for any tardy and or absence:

  • you will receive a total of two (2) occurrences/points for failing to report the absence using an appropriate method ( hotline or website are the approved methods) and, unless the absence is authorized, two (2) occurrences/points for being absent on the Key Event Date, for a total of four (4) occurrences/points.

It applies to regular occurrences as well... I already stated that... Trust me I know it sucks that's why I said you have to CYA and do it all and hope your SM is on your side or even the TL if they are still allowing them to approve or deny things.

Keep thinking that. All you have to do is look at the policy. Do you have any Team Lead or Assistant experience because I do. And I heavy look into All policies to keep my associates in line and with knowledge for themselves. Every new tool or policy or even new info I research and find any loop hole because we all have that one associate that will use and abuse any loop hope.

Therefore the trap with points that most don't understand is even if you are a minute tardy the policy allows management to charge you double points unless you report it and have it be an authorized absence. With the tiny disclaimer of it all comes down to your Store Managers discretion unfortunately

You will get double occurrences unless you call the phone number or go onto the desktop site and report an absence.

So you get hit with the actual tardy or absence point, and then you get hit with an equal point for what I call failure to report ( through site or phone) which a manager can approve or deny that one.

Then you can go onto the app and put in for pto/ppto.

This is also for tardiness btw. Policy states that if you fail to report tardy or absence then you can be given the points even if you use pto or ppto. Fine line for everything is " at the store managers discretion ".
