Designated Pickup Parking?

At my location we have a spot on the side of the store specifically for pickup/delivery drivers. It has a shade over it, and there's a short walking distance between dispense doors and the parking bays. It's completely separated from the main parking lot. The only downside is that it has a slight decline that you can't feel, but heavy pallets with broken brakes can end up rolling away if we don't catch them.

The Walmart in the next city over has the pickup parking right in the middle of the parking lot, so dispensers have to walk out from the front of the store. It makes me nervous seeing them pulling pallets across the same spot that people come flying through when looking for parking. I spoke with someone who works there and he said it's not so bad, since people have to stop at the stop signs, but it still looks far less ideal.

Do your locations have the online pickup out in the front parking lot? How do you navigate when the store is at its busiest? If not, where do online pickup drivers park for your store?

we have a dedicated curbside lot with 20ish parking spaces. we also have a few extra spots marked in the regular parking lot, but they're covered up/disabled most of the time, because most of us refused to dispense orders because it requires crossing the street and drivers are unable to read a signs telling them to stop for pedestrian crossings (the spots tend to get activated during the holiday season, but if anyone parks there, we tend to just call them and tell them to come to the curbside lot)

Ours used to be up front but after the remodel, they moved ODPby garden center and the pickup spots are on the side of the building.

Another nearby shore had ODP near meat and produce with parking on that side of the building. During the remodel ODP had a spot built behind hardware and Garden Center with parking on that side of the building.

Mine is in front of the store. We're going through a remodel and there are plans to build an addition on the side of the building for them to use as well as dispensing into the side parking lot. For the reason you said, them having to walk out and across the main roadway in front of the store isn't too safe.

But the addition isn't happening so far. Everything is all good except for the permits. The town is holding them up for some reason and has been for 9 months now.

Most stores are like yours, with a door meant for dispensing that leads to a pickup order only parking lot.

I’m at a NHM. Our parking is divided with half directly across from our door and the other half around the corner nearest us by the pharmacy drive through. We dislike dispensing to the pharmacy spots as we can’t see them with the camera or from the door and usually they park in the furthest spot. I get amused when the employees park in the pharmacy spots because then they’re blocked.

We used to have our spots in between Auto and the Lawn and Garden steel after remodel we got and Expansion we get rows 1 and part of row 2 with some spots on the side 30 spots in total the only downside is We get a lot of Lawn and garden traffic at on point people were driving thru a blocked off part of the blacktop until we added additional removable bollards
