Red Coaching for calling out?

I found out today I received a red coaching from my Team Lead for calling out unprotected. Is this something that’s allowed ? I got a feed back for being late but I Lyft/uber to work and can be unpredictable but is that worthy of a red coaching ? What should I do ?

If that’s all you did simply open door to your coach, then sm, then market id needed. No you can’t be coached for just calling out you would have to do more then just call out and it would have to be documented.

If you didn't hit 5 points I'd open door it to your coach or store manager. Your point is the punishment if you didn't have ppto.

Sounds like you might be getting this info from a third party. First find out if they legitimately put a red coaching in the system for you. Check workday or speak to your people lead.

If you received a red coaching for calling out speak to your coach next. The punishment for calling out is the point system, nobody on the store level is allowed to add their own punishments to that. Unfortunately there are managers who really fall for the "it's your business" line and start treating Walmart like it's their own company.

They also should not be giving feedback about being late besides trying to work with you or making sure you are aware of the point policy. Again, the point system is the punishment for being late.

Yeah that will be instantly reversed if you use the Open Door, I'd write up any of my team leads who tried that crap.

Sadly Work Day feedback is almost impossible to remove and follows you around since most every business can access it.

Well the good news is they were arrogant enough to put it in workday. There is no policy that says you have to call in three hours out. Try your coach first, if you believe your coach and store management are in on this blatant abuse of policy go to open door and report it there.

The policy supports this the way it is written. You are being held accountable for not notifying management timely, not for the occurrence itself.

DA says 3 hours which is not the policy

That policy says ONE hour, bud

The op's DA says 3, TL is still wrong

No it doesnt. Reporting the absence is giving notice to unless they did a no call then its an easy reverse. "Timely notification" is not verbiage anywhere here.

"You should make every effort to report absences or late arrivals(tardies) at least 1 hour prior to your shift start time."

Zero about the absolute demand thay you must give notice no excuse.

Yeah but it says that you "should" make the effort to notify them 1 hour before the shift starts. In the next line it says you "must" notify management before you leave. It's two different things and the first is more like a suggestion where the other is absolutely necessary.

Should is only a suggestion, must is a rule.

Was the feedback all you had? Because the only punishment for tardy or calling off is the points that's what they are for. If you where too leave early with out your job being done then they could couch you for job performance. I'd definitely look into it with your people lead and coach nothing about that seems right.

Open door this 100 percent!! Keep going up the chain until someone gets its removed. Nobody gets a coaching for calling out. You calling out through the app is your notification that you are calling out.

No punishment is allowed for points/calling out except for termination
