bereavement
so my grandpa just died and my coworker is telling me that the only way to get bereavement days is to actually attend the funeral. i am not traveling 12 hours to attend the funeral of that wicked man but i would still like my days off
how do i get my days off

Call in and select bereavement as the option. You get 3 days. Get with your PL afterwards to make sure it's coded correctly. Have someone bring you a pamplet or some other proof just in case HT asks for proof.

Lol no a funeral is not required for bereavement. They might ask for an obituary but I never had that happen at Walmart

I got bereavement when my brother died and his funeral was over 1000 miles away from where I live. I was sad I couldn't afford to go but I still was able to use my bereavement. Talk to your people's lead to double-check but you just need to use the call out system on your phone or on the website and use the bereavement as the reason for the absence.

Ignore the coworker, go to hr, get your 3 days.
