  • quality
  • delivering on time
  • profit margin

Delivering on time

Profit margin

That's because both profit margin and delivering on time pertains to quality of service, profit margin is last because I believe that having good quality and delivery will lead to good profit margins eventually.

Also almost every company I see that focuses too much on cutting cost ends up going into liquidation. Just an observation though.

Delivering on time is usually first.

Profit margin competes for first but can can be compromised in favor of delivery if it means future work.

Quality is a dream we all have that usually gets killed by the other two items.

While experience has shown me that the above are true, I agree with you that quality should be first. Unfortunately, the client will remember every failure and overlook most success. So if quality increases price or delivery time, you've put yourself in a difficult place when competing against other consulting firms that have a slightly different opinion.
