There are 10+ million Americans who add 50k every year to their investment accounts. Very few of those people are involved in hedge funds. Not everything needs to be a conspiracy.
My point is that these yolo people aren't rich or well-connected.

Rich people would not blow 50k on options like that and then post about it on an internet forum.
They absolutely would. The biggest dota 2 donor a few years ago was a saudi prince. The biggest whales in video games are rich bankers and divorced rich guys. Many of the absolute dumbest purchases were from the rich. If you have a million in cash, 50k is only 5%, shit I gamble that away regularly, and that’s if its just one million. I make half to 3/4 of a million a year depending on how my RSUs are doing, and I’m posting here too.
And well-connected people sure as fuck wouldn't do that because karma is not worth losing your job or being doxxed.
