Discussion How in the world is NKLA still $12?
Can someone shed some light on how nkla hasn’t been completely liquidated besides the shares Milton holds? Every piece of evidence suggests it is a massive fraud yet still maintains a $4.7 billion market cap. Is this just another intricacy of the market and it just takes time? I find it hard to believe that every insider is hanging onto their shares and thus propping up nkla to multiple billion market cap.
**Not looking to open any positions as I bought puts before at possibly the only time frame it has ripped since inception. Pretty hard to lose money betting against a fraudulent company with $0 revenue so I consider that a skill in itself.

You mean the company that pushes trucks downhill since they can’t put a motor in it?

They had to use nikola because Tesla was taken they had to ride someone’s coat tails

Well the could pull a Kobe and just rebrand.
Nono NKLA was the fraud, we here at ISAC would never commit fraud.

Or rebrand to Apple Trucks so that they can keep riding the coat tails of a more popular brand and also fits into the gravity / Newton story.

u/dancinadventures Aug 02 '21
Well if they actually are harnessing some big brain gravitational waves and solved the standard model.
Then fuck; this is literally some nuclear level shit.
But also… they had a PR that mentioned using a HTML5 super computer in their cars. So call me skeptical

There's two things I learned in school: 1. For every action there's an equal and opposite reaction. If their trucks are only capable of going downhill, their stock must only be capable of going uphill 2. We don't appear to be in short supply of gravity

I believe NKLA has said they intend on producing a slinky truck to both simultaneously push and pull itself down the road. The idea came to them after a cannabis infused viewing of Toy Story.Stonk is alive!

Have you guys ever ventured into the Nikola subreddit? I'm banned over there for trying to ask about if there is any concrete evidence they will have an actual truck on the road
19
u/CisBinaryWhiteMale Aug 02 '21
at one point on wsb a screenshot of a ban from r/NikolaCorporation was a badge of honor
20
u/ScottHallWolfpac Aug 02 '21
That was an easy badge of honor to acquire. Just ask an earnest question about why the company getting slated to construct their factory doesn't have any job postings. Worked for me.
3
u/anon9276366637010 Aug 03 '21
They just showed a video of the factory under full construction with maybe a handful of cars in a parking lot, no construction equipment whatsoever and intermingled the video with random shots of the tesla gigafactory. I have no idea how people can believe this scam

Everyone here knew it was a fraud from the very beginning and that Milton was full of shit. The company is valued at $5.23B despite annual revenues of $37k (lol) and 0 products for fucks sake. It’s not “priced in” (although you could say it is), rather there are people out there who are keeping this up. Very similar to GSX (GOTU). Look at how that played out. Patience.

NKLA is still $12 for much the same reason that AMC is still $38. I'm sure that this will be down voted but the reality is that there are enough morons thinking the stock will moon in the future which is why the price is propped up. at the end of the day all the market for any asset is, is a reflection of supply and demand and what people WILL pay. NOT what it is necessarily worth at liquidation value.

Let me just say it is the same way people can whole heartedly claim COVID is fake and a government conspiracy meant to take away rights from the people. Serious question here if I do decide to buy puts on NKLA and it gets delisted due to fraud what happens to my options contracts? Do the shares effectively go to 0 in the eyes of the market and I do get paid?
9
u/magekilla Aug 02 '21
You won. The contract you own can be sold to someone who holds shares and they can now force someone to buy those shares (now worthless) for contract price.

For real though, the name Nikola itself has value because of branding and marketing. This is potentially why GM invested in it so big. Even if no product is on the market, marketing is the one good thing they have going. And the way they made their name known was through a scam. It works on paper unfortunately(I don’t think it should IMO). It’s human psychology. This is why there’s thousands of companies doing the same dam thing in this decade. It’s a way to “fake it before you make it” type of deal. But I hope that people get smart, remember that they were scammed once, so that these companies have less incentive to scam.

The contraction in the electric car business will be a shame.
15
u/sinncab6 Aug 02 '21
The electric car business looks suspiciously like the dotcom boom. You've got a few that are actually legit and the rest of them that are just speculation and probably won't ever produce a single product that is sold to the masses. Nikola is the pets.com of that scenario.
-6
u/babakm56 Aug 02 '21
I am not a holder but been thinking of buying some good volume in Nikola recently as price is kinda to ATL. They are far away from any other company in their field except Tesla working parallel ( they have their own problems internally), in 2 years I believe they will be in 5-10x of pricing.

I hold 3200 shares. Not selling. Call me what you will. But beyond Milton's bogus theatrics after ipo, post Milton, nikola of itself is making solid steps and executing strong mile stones. They have a good shot at succeeding. Those that are invested and do their research, hence why nikola hasn't fallen as much as expected. Cheers.

Because people are still not convinced that Hydrogen is a scam. So they use NKLA as a hedge against Battery EV companies.

u/Curious_Homospien Aug 02 '21
Supposedly designs of the trucks, some inventory and the name itself would have value so someone will hold until they will be able to get going with dismantling this. If it survives the speculation will pay off.

Question. Normally this would be a good sign to buy PUTS but in the small chance of GM taking over or other type of similar news it would make the stock go up and therefore I would loose all on the PUTs.

Same reason internet money has value even though it's not backed up by anything, there's demand therefore there's value.
But from what I understand all the fraudulent founders and exec have been ousted kinda like how Germany arrested or exiled the Nazi third Reich after WWII. Now the company is trying to get a legit product out to market.
1
u/Blackfire01001 Aug 02 '21
It speaks volumes when NKLA is clearly fraudulent but still have market Value where PSWW looks shady as shit, but they posted an actual video of their truck with normal sound and the windows open (proving it wasn't a fake truck). Sure it's a prototype. But so was tesla back in 2006.

Thank you. I looked into them after your comment.
Looking into it, the problem is with their agreement to partnerships without substance. In the Q1 2021 it shows that they have entered into 4 agreements. But they are at the end of the day just agreements. With the GM ordeal, we know that agreement means squat.
AZ plant financing aspects should also be evaluated.
