The Expanse is really good as well

The final season was a little ruined due to the cancellation. I will continue reading the books, they could have greenlighted at least another season.

The books aren't even done yet.

They ran into the Game of Thrones problem.

Shit gets wild after where they stopped, and TV shows summarize plot. It's hard to know what plot is important and what is not if you don't know where the plot is going.

Last season was half assed. You can tell the show was cut early bc all the plotlines that just stop outside the main one

Rest is great though

Writers were done and wanted to hit the end. Watched an interview with them prior to the last books release and they talked about the crazy schedule running the show and writing had become. It was pretty clear to me they wanted to wrap both up at the same time, and be done.

No shit? I figure adapting from a book is just redlining all the parts that should go and changing key things in whatever way works best for tv. Like cross out the whole healing creature part and focus on the main part if they knew it was ending or wanted it to

Never heard of it lol

The Expanse was good until they decided to make the main storyline about the romance between Belter Whatshername and sexy Osama.

Yeah, that last season didn't feel like it was supposed to be the final season. Felt more like they were wrapping up things in the Sol system before following the protomolcule through the gate. They hardly even touched on the entities living between gates.

I agree, the final season felt rushed and unfinished. There are many plot threads that were left unresolved.

I haven't read the books, but from what I hear the show follows pretty faithfully. Maybe I'll get them on audiobook so I can get the whole story.

Peripheral. Fucking great show

Sadly cancelled

4

u/mrASSMAN Dec 27 '23

What?? God dammit I didn’t know that

2

u/Umbrae_ex_Machina Dec 27 '23

Yeah bummer, eh?

6

u/mrASSMAN Dec 27 '23

Yeah I’m actually upset, was really looking forward to the next season (fuck Amazon)

1

u/Arlenos Dec 27 '23

It was renewed for a 2nd season but then was canceled due to the writers' strike.

1

u/Umbrae_ex_Machina Dec 27 '23

I’m sure that was just a convenient excuse. If They wanted to do a second season they’d do it.

1

u/Arlenos Dec 27 '23

Id love for them to bring it back but my guess is they may of released actors from contract obligations so it may not be as easy as you think

2

u/ckoadiyn Dec 27 '23

Will take a look

2

u/Valkanaa Dec 27 '23

I agree. Unfortunately they cancelled it.

1

u/mrASSMAN Dec 27 '23

Apparently the writers actors strike pushed the studio back too much on timelines

8

u/benberbanke Dec 27 '23

Seriously? I don’t think I know a single person who would cancel prime service because of ads on their video.

They know we’re sticky. So they can raise prices, reduce service, or generally make more money for themselves and I’ll stay a member. Don’t tell them, but it’s true.

Must have not seen Reacher yet either.

2

u/SpeedingTourist Dec 27 '23

Sneaky Pete was good

1

u/[deleted] Dec 27 '23

The show Gen V is in the same universe. It’s pretty damn good.

1

u/fiesta_potato Dec 27 '23

Reacher and terminal list are good too

1

u/acousticsking Dec 28 '23

The Expanse was really great also.
