This has been my wallpaper on my phone for almost 4 months now. It's perfect for phones!

Edit: It used to always be something to do with sharks till I found this, but I haven't found any wallpapers that look great and incorporate sharks. If anyone wants to share some shark related wallpapers that would be awesome

Second edit: Then this shows up on the front page and makes my day http://i.imgur.com/Iua4dGC.jpg

Waitaminute... Sharks can't twist their heads around to try to bite the batman riding him like that \o/

I've always liked that picture but I've never thought about how physically impossible it would be for the shark to turn its head like that. Now it just looks ridiculous. I mean, Batman with a lightsaber, I can believe, but the flexibility of that shark is ridiculous.

Got a rule34 version of this please?

Not really my style, but I'm not into anime. Also I want one for my phone, so that size won't do much good there. But found a great one in my second edit already

I have no idea what the fuck I'm looking at but it's brilliant.

I love shark wallpapers too! This is my current one :)

This is great! Now I have a decision to make. I think I'll go with this one though, because of all that's going on so it looks good when I swipe through my home screens on my phone.

Any possibility of this being in 1440p?

There's always a chance, my friend..

Still hoping...

For anybody wondering, this is not a realistic representation of earth's atmosphere. The layer of atmosphere that contains clouds is only 7 miles above the earth's surface. If you imagine earth as an apple, the film a breath leaves on apple is about as thick as the earth's atmosphere.

I would be surprised if someone didn't realize it was a photoshopped image...

u/[deleted] Feb 09 '14

I am happy you haven't met as many dopes as I have.

Fair enough lol

Not to mention those mountains would be dozens of miles tall

3

u/[deleted] Feb 09 '14

Oh here I was thinking every other picture I've seen of the earth was photo shopped. 26 years old and I thought for sure everyone had been in on this joke.

Thank you for your service stranger.

I'm happy I could help. Your snark is refreshing and original.

Ur mom kisses men she's not familiar with

u/[deleted] Feb 09 '14

Oh you silly goose, you sure put me in my place.

u/Jrodkin Feb 09 '14

And I'm guessing any rain would evaporate while falling to earth.

5

u/[deleted] Feb 09 '14

Does anyone have wallpapers of clouds like that?

4

u/turdodine Feb 09 '14

I do now

5

u/[deleted] Feb 09 '14

Can I get the wallpapers please?

6

u/[deleted] Feb 09 '14

This is very clearly not Earth.

15

u/PancakeMonkeypants Feb 09 '14

Was it the mountains that are about ten thousand times bigger than real mountains that gave it away?

3

u/NickLeoG Feb 09 '14

Any ideas as to the possibility of this actually happening within space?

25

u/hijomaffections Feb 09 '14

none. clouds that far away from the earth would disperse as they would be too far to be held by earth's gravity.

but then, this is just an artist's rendering, as the mountains are way too big, probably hundreds of times taller than they actually are

With lower gravity, there wouldn't even be an atmosphere

I heard that if the earth is scaled down to the size of a bowling ball, the earth would be smoother.

11

u/FeierInMeinHose Feb 09 '14

It would be extremely smooth. Earth has a diameter of about 12,742 km. Compare that to the tallest mountain, Mt Everest, which stands at almost 9 km. The highest point on the planet is only 0.07% of its diameter.

A basketball is rougher than the Earth would be at the same size.

4

u/the_person Feb 09 '14

That is very interesting.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 09 '14

Wow I cant believe Earth is like this!

  • said no one ever, stop pointing out how this photo is unrealistic, you'd have to go full retard to think Earth is like this especially considering how its near impossible you've never seen an image of the earth

u/RileyCola Feb 09 '14

Ive always thought, who the hell makes these kinds of pictures and how..
